I love my Havanese! We were lucky to get him for $600.00 from a young couple who bred their pure bred couple so they could pay for her college tuition. He is very much the Velcro dog described. Playful, stubborn and finicky. What a joy. I never thought a dog could make me laugh so much. It is their nature to entertain you! When we walk, he is so attentive, looking back at me to see if he is going in the right direction. He will jump into my arms if he is scared by distant barking. We found him by mistake when browsing for a Shih Tzu. We had never heard of the breed before. So happy we have him!
I had 2 Havanese , Poncho lived till 19. Mikko lived till 18.
The time with these awesome dogs was incredible. Loving, protective and loyal.

Columbus claimed Cuba for Spain in 1492 NOT 1942. I had a Havanese for 12 years, she was pure joy and the love of my live. Those years were some of the best due to her constant companionship and playfulness. Smart, easy to train and they like to please you. One of the best dogs in the world IMHO
