I saw recently that they had found a fossilized dinsaur voice box, and it's quite probably that they did hiss like geese instead of roar. Can you imagine something the size of a T-Rex hissing at you?

But non avian dinosaurs can be revived, it just takes a bit of time and also the DNA, we have a perfectly preserved egg recently discovered, and we know what they might have looked like, young may have been a greyish brown colour as hatchling with fluff, but as they age, they begin to show some significant patterning

It would groom itself for a second when you pulled back, and go back to hissing after you moved a bit closer. You were messing with it. Of course it hissed because it felt threatened - you approached it. You're lucky that geese hiss very easily to communicate that they aren't pleased, because otherwise they'd go right to biting.

The snap sound is from someone closing hedge clippers by the sound of it to agitate the goose when its trying to groom itself
One snap was not in sync with its mouth, something else was doing that click.
