    I'm glad I found your channel. By your comments, you have had a very similar experience as I have in trying to make the Pimax Crystal comfortable. I got an Apache Comfort Strap from Player 1 with the counterweight. Although the counterweight is a good addition, the comfort strap wouldn't let the rear headband sit as low as it should so it got the flick. I then bought a cheap 12mm PU leather face and neck pad from Aliexpress, and even though the FOV was better, I ended up going back to the original 15mm foam piece (I have prescription lenses fitted). Which like the G2 Reverb's foam pad, makes my forehead itch. I even bought a cloth skull cap, that cyclists wear under their helmet for comfort and that helped a lot.
    Now after finding your video, I've just ordered the fabric kit like yours from Studioform. So, here's hoping I can finally get comfortable. Having said that, I wouldn't give up my Pimax Crystal for anything.

      I’m laughing because I feel your pain! The Studioform range is the best I’ve ever tried. Zero affiliation with them but they’ve looked after me as well as many others I’m sure of. Let me know how yours goes please 👍

    I trim away the Pimax thick foam that they provided for my 8KX and make it as thin as possible so I can get the best FOV. Oddly, I don't care about being comfortable lol. Been wearing it for years...didn't seem to bother me.

      That is odd but I’m somewhat jealous of your tolerance of being uncomfortable!

    I just got my crystal and really love the visuals of it, but the comfort is really bothering me. I can only last about 25-35 minutes before getting some serious pressure pains on my forehead. I feel the need to crank it real tight to have it sit securely on my head and stop it from wobbling around, and that leads to very painful experience after a short while.
    Was looking at the official Pimax top strap first, but that seems to have been out of stock for a good while now, so I'll be getting the StudioForm top strap and pads instead. Doesn't look at nice, but hopefully it'll be just as functional and comfortable. I've seen a lot of happy reviews and people reporting they can play for way longer without pains with the Apache strap, and I hope I can add to that statistic.
    Thanks for the review Mark, helped me make the decision to buy it!

      I had the exact same experience as you. Even had a return ready to go but couldn’t pass on the visuals. The extra money that I’ve spent making the crystal was well worth it.

    Thanks for posting this, great honest review. Been thinking about the top foam pad as I do have a top strap for it, but see they also have the spacers. I do notice that if I move side to side the headset is a bit lose on the temples and maybe bumping those sides in would help with that. That way I don't have to tighten so much to make contact on all sides of my face.

      Sorry for the late reply. Yeah the side spacers definitely help. Keeps the headset in place without having to tighten too much.

    Hi, are you able to wear your glasses with the fabric face cushion installed?

    • @_MarkV_
      @_MarkV_  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven’t tried tbh because I use prescription lenses in my headset. I’ve tried glasses in the past with various setups and didn’t like it.

      Sorry for late reply. From Pimax online store. I had it on preorder and it was only available for a very short period of time. I’d just go with the Studioform if I was you.
