I had it for lunch today with limited ingredients- poha, salt, sugar, onion, turmeric, sesame seed, peanut, ghee last in mix...it tasted heavenly!

Avoid the sugar and soak the poha for 30 secs only. I tried 2 mins and it literally became upma 😂

I am maharashtrian. We don't make just like this. Specifically no need of soaking for 2 mins. Just pour water and immediately drain it off. No need of adding sugar and salt after draining water.
Later while cooking we can add salt sugar. Hing also we r not using.

Thank-you so much for mentioning the salt quantity. Salt is a game-changer for any dish and for someone who is new to cooking, guessing the quantity of 'salt to taste' is pretty frustrating.

your recipes are amazing no doubt.. but being a maharashtrian and we eat this almost everyday here's a tip. never stir the poha too much that it starts breaking.. in this video.. there was too much stiring which made it into lumps.. each and every grain of beaten rice should be visible..

Love this receipe.... People add so many veggies in poha....but this is the ultimate one... adding other veggies changes its taste...my mother in law add Shimla mirchi, carrot, tomato onto this...its good....but Kanda poha has to be like this one only

  • @snehasangekar5641

Instead of soaking poha, you can simply wash it in colander itself. And instead of mixing coriander and grated coconut, you can garnish the rrady pohe with it.
