Hi, is the amount in dependent section a withholding or exemption? When I used the IRS tool it had me enter $2561. Why is it more than the $2,000.00? I have one child.
I filed as head of household in 2023. I owed $800 in taxes when it came time to file in 2024.. What did I do wrong? I didn’t fill out anything besides picking head of household. I thought Head of household is supposed to make you not owe the IRS anything? How do I avoid that this upcoming tax year.
@ms.kkoliver9153 if you're self-employed you can have taxes withheld from this temporary job to account for what time need to do for estimated tax payments.
@Jessj3s5 great question! The video for Married Filing Jointly will be coming out on Monday. For MFJ with no children and one income the MFJ box just needs to be checked.
So I only need to do extra withholding if I have another job? I have been doing extra withholdings. Ughhh! I didn't want to have to owe the IRS anything. I think I need to contact HR to update????
@AmericasFavEA Thank you so much for responding to my question. You definitely have gained a follower. I subscribed, because this is much needed information. 💯
There is no video for that. You could add another dependent to your W4 but you run the risk of owing if you add a dependent that you won't actually be claiming.
Growing up did you want Ray or Lisa to be your parent?
Hi,
How do you fill out Not married/Both work/Live Together/& have a daughter...???
In this scenario one person can claim the child and HOH is whichever person provides more than half of the support for the child.
Thank you for breaking it down. I’m not use to w4s.
@@AnnaE949 you're so welcome

That's a great question! It is a credit. Do you have an adult child or other dependent you are claiming?
Using the cast of sister sister for the example is gold lol love it
😁 thank you!
What if have a mortgage?
If you have enough deductions to itemize you can account for that in the deductions section.
Thank you! Subscribed
You're welcome, I appreciate you! 🙏🏾

I made $35,000 on my W2
What if you file self employment head of household 1040? Do you have to fill this out for a job that is only temporary? Its only for a month

After filling this up for your first job. How do you fill up the w4 for your second job. Do you fill it up the same way?
You only need to have additional withholding for 1 job.
Also, if you have multiple jobs don't put your dependents on both W4s.
How do you fill it out being married no children only husband working? Don’t want to pay at the end of the year lol

Extra withholding if you have another job or stream of income. 😩 I feel you, better safe than sorry.

So if I get $0 dollars I just put that?
That's what you got using the chart?
what if you want less taxes taken out? do you have a video on that

Thanks! I picked up a new job and got married recently so the 4c part is just throwing me off a bit. Can't wait for video!
