Not exactly carbon emissions friendly but also not practical for some of the provinces they play for. Yes most are fringe and under 19 but a few are province starting and regularly used bench players.

@@SCHOOLOFSPORTS probably too much of one. Far fewer schools than SA feeding into this field sport, a clear third position choice amongst Irelands youth. That said Irelands rugby achievements over the last 10 years or so has broadened its reach and this is now baring fruit through the home grown talent coming through the various clubs and academies.

@billybobjoli I don't know. I'm a big Irish fan and I have to say the emerging irish were incredible with their last gasp defence, but the cheetahs spent a long time in the irish 22 all match. We were very good at taking our oppourtunities and in the line out, but had this been a test match where teams were kicking for points the Cheetahs would have probably won, having Stein and Pienaar on the field and so many penalties conceded by our lads. That being said the Irish still deserved the win and it is looking good for Irelands future.

The Cheetahs are clearly not having enough game time, their failure to finish is testimony to the fact. If they were able to increase the finishing percentage they would have made for a really exciting team. It is sad that the franchise has been deminished to a glimmer of what it use to be, both by their own administration and SA rugby pulling them from the major tournaments. SA rugby would have been richer if the Cheetahs were better managed.

@@SCHOOLOFSPORTS I believe they need to be accomodated in the major tournaments from a SA Rugby perspective. From a Freestate Rugby perspective the brand needs to be built up and strengthened, stop selling the good players for a quick buck. Have a massive PR campaign to save one of the oldest rugby teams in the country. I believe a stronger Cheetahs franchise will strengthen SA Rugby.

Try switching the jerseys and then tell me how you feel about the calls. It’s an old way of seeing how you really feel about referee decisions! It was taught to me years ago and looks like it would be a useful tool for you as you have no balance in your comment.

Negative defensively against a far bulkier battle hardened side, but not in attack. None of those scores came from negative rugby. Ps the so called negative rugby was penalised to the fullest extent. 3 yellow cards and down to 13 for a spell. You should maybe ask the question, ‘where was the Cheetahs positive rugby during these periods.

Didn't see the full game, but heard emerging Ireland did employ a lot of time wasting tactics when down a man (which happened a lot).
On the one hand, no one likes to see this. On the other, as an Irish fan, if our system is producing young players with that much nous and game management, I've got to be a bit pleased. We're never going to produce the biggest players, so we have to try and produce the smartest.

@@kingkongkong2204 I counldn't disagree more. Ireland have been fantastic in attack for the last few years now. You only need to look at their try highlights for that. long has Joe Smitts green machine been converted into a class attacking team by Farrell, certanly more abitious then the current SA team, though I like their play, it's just very one dimensional. i have seen many SA fans agreeing with this in recent times and saying they need to develop a runnign rugby based plan b tactic.
