      Hi Mark - sorry for the delay in replying. Thanks a lot mate 😊🙏🏻 no, on this one there was a frame built that the backs fitted on to but you can attach the backs to the wall if you fit a sheet of MDF on to the wall and attach it to that 👍🏻

    Hi, on the 9x6 diamond what size would you mark the fabric if I’m using 4” high density foam?
    Is there a ratio just in case I decide on a smaller diamond?
    Very helpful video by the way

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Steve - I would put your foam on and drill out your holes and then measure to the bottom of each hole to see how much extra allowance you’d need to give on your fabric. 4” foam is going to be really deep...I usually use 2” but it’s up to you! It also depends on how much your fabric stretches as to the allowance you give too - so the more it stretches the more allowance you give. So on 2” foam with vinyl I would give approx an inch top to bottom and an inch side to side allowance on each diamond...just as a guide. I hope this helps! And thanks for watching!!

My channel now needs 1,000 subscribers so it would be amazing if you could show your support by both watching my videos and subscribing to my channel! Monetizing my videos allows me to invest back into the channel with new equipment to improve the viewing quality so a small gesture from you goes a huge way for me :-) Many thanks for your support!

    When cutting the holes in the foam, what ratio hole do you use in relation to the size of the button? I have 20mm (size 32) buttons and can't work out what size to cut in the foam!
    Thank you. Great video's :)

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Lucy! Great question! I usually use 19mm buttons and I cut my holes with a 32mm drill bit. There’s no exact science to it but I just prefer the finished look with those sizes 😊 just make sure you cut the holes larger than the buttons (just not too much larger) and you’ll be fine 👍🏻

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! It depends on how deep and high you want the seats. I would cut your seats and then upholster your seats first and then measure your backs. I can’t remember the exact measurements of the MDF on these, sorry mate!

    Hey I just bought these “Crystal head push pins” they’re like large Tacks with crystal/diamond-like rhinestone tops. I’m realizing I might have take a different approach to the diamond tufting part wouldn’t I?
    Do you think that by buying these “crystal head upholstery tack/pin” things that I limited myself to how thick or padding I can use? Because I’d think they’d need to make it into a hard surface in order to be secured; like a nail or a tack would..... Sooo.. yeahhhh. Basically am I correct in assuming I’ll have to approach a project like this in a slightly different way?
    Anybody? Hello? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! If you drill holes in the foam, it will definitely help the button/pins to attach to the wooden frame. It also depends how long the pins are! Send me a message on Instagram with pictures of the pins you have and I’ll try to advise the best I can!

    Im looking to make some bench seating for my restaurant. Ive been quoted $300 for a 16"x48". I need 40... Can't afford $12,000 so I'll do it myself I guess. What type of Vinyl and how thick would your recommend?

    • @faceliftinteriors
      @faceliftinteriors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jim! Upholstery grade vinyl is what you’d want. Check the fire regulations for your country too as it needs to meet stricter regulations for commercial use in the UK and has to be FR treated with crib 5 here 👍🏻
