Thank you so much for this video! We thought our mini fridge was broken and this fixed it! 🎉
Nice work! Very helpful indeed. I followed the instructions though the compressor and relay were different in appearance on the Danby refrigerator/ freezer I was trying to repair. The cover was rather difficult to remove, but the parts inside were on Amazon and fit perfectly. I was a little worried that the compressor got quite hot. This seems normal based on the comments of others. The unit works perfectly now. Thank you!
Thank you for your feedback
I thought I was going to have to throw the fridge away! Thanks for the info!
Glad you find this helpful. Please like, subscribe and share.
Bruh why throw it away at once? You could call a mechanic or smth first to get it fixed.
@@villager96 Call a technician not mechanic.
Thank you very much ! Save a lot of $$$ Have nice one 👍
This is great!
Thank you! Gonna try it!
Thanks for the explanation.
When I removed the relay it had two white wires, both connected to the same pin on the right side and the red wire connected to the pin on the left side.
I purchased a 4 pin relay because I didn't know how to connect both white wires to the one pin. I connected the red wire to the top left pin and one white wire to the upper pin on the right side and other white wire to the lower pin on the right side. BTW does it matter which one is connected to the upper vs lower?
The compressor comes on, but the fridge doesn't stay cold. It seems to get cold upnon resetting it, but then does not remain cold.
Thanks for your assistance.
Where do I connect the red wire and the other two white ones? If the relay only has 2 long pins and 2 short pins?
Do you mind sharing how wire connection goes please? Can't quite see it on the video, and they replaced my stock relay with an compatible one, so I'm not sure how to wire it.
You may refer to this video on wire connection on the relay: th-cam.com/video/v3LGBJ7ZVW4/w-d-xo.html
My model is DAR44A6BSlDB and I cant get cover off Relay as easy as you did, its different and I cant figure it out how to get it off? Any ideas? Mark
Use a small, flat screwdriver, or table knife, and there are 'locking tabs ' on the black plastic outer cover. Also, pry this OFF OF COMPRESSOR, with flat screwdriver, so the 3 pins going into relay unit from compressor hold it on. Mostly cheap junk parts, where there needs to be a 'real ' relay, one with a coil of wire, and contacts on a spring.
I gouged tray frion leaked out, aside from replacing part, what's best way to patch it
New fridge
Was your compressor running when it wasn’t getting cold?
yes
My danby mini fridge is not cooling but when we plug in light is on please tell me how to fix
Likely need a new compressor. Not work to fix.
Where dod you get the relay?
Thanks for watching. I got it from www.danbyapplianceparts.com/product/ptc-overload-protector-combination/
AMAZON has them, too !
you said DONT REPLACE? and what you are doing is replacing it?
He's replacing a part..not the whole fridge you stooge..
Not clear how you removed part. Pulling on wires didn't work.
@@AllenFMackenzie The electrical connector of the wire slide in and out easily unless yours have rust. Careful don’t break the connector from the wire..
unplug it first
