    Take the striker out. Get a-tips put them in a drill and get polishing compound. Polish the inside of the striker then install the apex slide maintenance spring kit. It will smooth the trigger out and make the trigger feel great.

    Have this exact model but in black. I run a Leupold Delta Point Pro and upgraded the trigger and striker with Apex. I love this gun especially after I upgraded the trigger. 700 rounds through mine and no issues. The mags are expensive though. I collect one every so often.

    Put the Apex Striker Assembly in mine as well "just in case" because you should always never have to worry about breaking a gun you need to protect yourself from simple dry firing. FN dropped the ball on that issue. I do love mine. I got the MDR or COMPACT equipped with RMR mount. I have a Leupold Delta Point Pro for mine and love it. Also ordered a 17 round mag with a FDE sleeve so now I have a 12 15 AND 17 ROUND magazines. Shoots well and the trigger improved when I shot it the third time after 300 rounds. No complaints as of yet. Vedder light tuck IWB for me as well.

    Do you know if FN has addressed the striker issue? I’m looking to get one of these soon and am wondering if i should go ahead and get the upgraded striker.

    It’s more readily available because of the price point,that’s why.

    That's the best choice. Apex everything and you will have a great gun. Leave the factory striker and risk your life. Mine's broke.6 days ago at the range and the felling isn't good. So I advice everyone who have the FN 509 to go Apex everything! My two cents!

    Don’t leave home without replacing the striker with an Apex striker. My FN 509 Compact MRD had 100 rounds till the striker pin broke. Likewise I mounted an Olight on the pistol. My CZ P10 C is superior to the FN 509 pistol in every way, because it goes bang every time. If you are considering this pistol just keep walking by. As an owner of several pistols this is not a reliable pistol. Thanks for the holster intel.

      Other than the striker what else makes it unreliable?

    • @Quality_Guru
      @Quality_Guru 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Hialeah1925 Everything else works on it, after I replaced the striker with an Apex Part. You will need to use a snap cap if you want to dry fire it. So far so good. Let's see if the Apex part will hold up.

    6 or 7 pound trigger is horrible. I just ordered one if it’s that bad I’ll be selling it when I get it. I imagine the sigsauer P3 20 would probably be better

      I count the stipples under the trigger guard to differentiate between compact, full size or midsize. The compact is easy to spot but the midsize has 8 rows of stippling. The full size has 12 rows.

    Why you know what you buy a firearm and immediately need to replace a very integral part? Smh!
