Smart ride by the jock. Saved a ton of ground hugging the rail. Had plenty of leg left at the end and won going away. Zulu Alpha is one good looking horse. What a rewarding claim for $80K.
Congrats to Zulu Alpha who was without question the best horse on the day, but I gotta give major kudos once again to the Coolmore filly Magic Wand for running another cracking good race in another top international G1 race on turf. Over the past 5 months, she's logged more frequent flier miles than airlines even give away nowadays. She's been game as can be racing over 10F during that stretch, and with the exception of a sub-par 10th in the Melbourne Cup at 2 miles, to date her first and only career start racing beyond 12F, she's been nothing short of brilliant in all her other starts. In August she traveled to the states where she ran 2nd in the G1 Arlington Million. In September, back with trainer Aidan O'Brien in Ireland, she finished 2nd behind stablemate Magical in the G1 Irish Champion Stakes. Then it was off to Australia in October where she ran a creditable 4th of 14 in the G1 Cox Plate. Ten days later came her less than stellar run in the G1 Melbourne Cup, but she returned to Flemington and 10F just four days later to win the G1 Mackinnon Stakes. She returned to Ireland to prepare for Sha Tin in December where she scored another 2nd place finish in the G1 Hong Kong Cup at 10F, and another trip to the states has again yielded Magic Wand a 2nd in the G1 Pegasus World Cup Turf for a second year in a row. Really impressive job by trainer Aidan O'Brien to keep a filly on the go like this at an international G1 level all over the world producing such stellar results in every country she's raced in. She's become sort of Ballydoyle's female version of Highland Reel, with the notable exception being Highland Reel won more international G1 races than Magic Wand ever has or is likely to. Even still, she's a very game filly nonetheless.
@@jonathanschwartz6694 , I can see where someone might think that because he went wire to wire and won so easily. I think it's probably fair to say that renewal was probably top heavy, with the top 4 or 5 horses really the only threat to win the race. But what gets lost is the brilliant ride that Irish jockey Seamie Heffernan gave Highland Reel that day. Lest we forget, he broke widest of all, but Heffernan hustled him out of the gate and got him to the front, which is where he was always most comfortable. Ryan Moore had Found too far off the pace and buried behind horses. Left her far too much to do. It was such a good ride that really only Flintshire was in position to even remotely have a shot, but Heffernan's ride on Highland Reel left Javier Castellano completely "lost in translation", and when Heffernan really set Highland Reel alight coming off the last turn hitting the top of the stretch, Highland Reel was rolling with a head of steam and you could stick a fork in the other multiple G1 winners in that field because they were done!
How did Stronach managed almost identical pick 6 numbers at breeders cup day in Santa Anita and Pegasus World Cup in Gulfstream ? Something not right .
NAKAPANOOD ng BOKSING style ni Val DELIMA sa balya idinaan ... akala ko banderang tapos ... a great gamble of the rider to win in a calibrated ride or loose reign and tight one but he composed a good music to WIN ... good morning its really fun to watch race horses live for the EMOTIONS of RACING FANS

Highland Reel wire to wire back in the day. Believe it may have been a cheap Breeder's Cup turf competition. Bring it !!

I bet if there was a $1 million donkey race more people would watch.
Magic Wand is very strong and consistent. She just keeps running into a bit of trouble or very strong horses.
Great conduction by Zulu Alpha jockey. Wait the moment to move
the horse to win.
