- Now that we have the Chao World Extended (CWE) V8 available, I wanted to put up a small tutorial for those wanting to try out the mod for themselves! This also includes a quick guide for those who already have the previous CWE downloaded.

FAQ:
Q: The file is a .7z, how do I unzip it?
A: Make sure you have 7Zip installed! It's free to download here: www.7-zip.org/...
Q:What if you only have the 20,809 KB version of sonic2app in your folder?
A:There should be something in Steam where you right click on Sonic Adventure 2 and choose Properties, under Local Files tab click on 'Verify integrity of game files...'
This should restore any files that may be missing.
Q:When I launch the game it crashes before the title screen, what can I do?
A:You may have a problem with SA2 Mod Loader. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 runtime 64x and 86x and the problem should be solved.
Another alternative fix I've found is to remove and re-add the mods in the mods folder, and reboot SA2 Mod Loader to ensure the DLL is the same between the Mod Loader and the mods folder.

Note, as of now, all the optional codes are now in the "configuration" menu when clicking CWE in the mod manager rather then the "code" tab. Everything else this video will definitely help for getting this mod and others working.

Does this mean I would have to delete the codes I don't want?
@@imaginemiles1133 You can keep optional codes disabled if you don't want certain ones without having to delete them. They are still able to be turned on and off through the Config Menu

@@slanderthesnake3525 Its on the "mods" tab, click "Chao World Extended" and near the bottom where there's several options there'll be a "Configuration" or "Config" button
Thanks for this tutorial I know this video was done a long while ago but this helped me inmensely, now I can have a fun and beautiful garden full of chao!

hey Sapphire! been a long time fan of your channel, and just had a small question. My siblings and I play the game on PS3 (the good Sa2 version xD) and we cant seem to get pink, purple, or yellow eggs... is it not possible to get those in the ps3 version? or are there steps we need to take?
Generally the more emblems = more eggs available
There's usually 3 egg colours that never seem to appear (and is different for each chao save file).
I think in your situation, you'll need to collect all 180 emblems (or get very close to it) to have access to all egg colours

I can't get the ModLoader to work. When I download the file it appears with the Internet Explorer logo next to it instead of a file folder. When I extract it to the SA2 folder it doesn't have the purple logo for the logo, just the Internet Explorer logo still, and the "mods" folder isn't appearing within the SA2 folder. For file type it doesn't have the ModLoader as an application, but as a "7z" file. I've honestly got no clue on what I'm supposed to do so any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, sorry for the long message.
Try downloading it again from the link provided. Are you saving it directly as a .zip file?
The 7z file is also a zip, you can download 7 Zip for free online of you don't have it already

I have sa2 from steam, but i dont have the sa2 folder and i’m in frustration trying to extract lol. Do you know where i can find my folder?
in your steam library, right-click SA2 and hover over manage > browse local files

The mod loader won’t download when I click it. It just takes me to a blank page :’(

Hey, Sapphire. Random question.
I've watched your Chao garden playthrough before, and I know you've transferred your Chao / game data to another computer at one point. Did you have to save individual Chao files or did all of the data from your steam game actually transfer over?
Sorry if this is a weird question. I just wanna make sure that, in the scenario that I lose this computer, my Chao and data don't disappear as well. I'd hate to lose all my children, aaaa--
I keep a folder of all individual chao files on my computer, and back them up on a hard disc drive or cloud storage system
You can also keep backups of the SA2 save data which is usually named something like SA2_ALF in the Steam folder usually in gd_pc/Resource/SAVEDATA

I did the download and I’m able to play, but when I’m in Chao Garden and try to leave it freezes and doesn’t finished the loading to exit. How can I fix this ? Please

i downloaded V9 and followed the tutorial Exactly, but the moment i enter the chao garden [not lobby] the game fades to black then closes itself. any ideas on how to fix would be much appreciated :''3
it wont let me extract the mod loader file.... is it coz im on a crappy windows 7 laptop?
When i install the loader and load the game, the game immediately closes after the Sonic Team Logo. Is there a solution to this issue?
Edit: Nevermind, i installed Visual Studio C++ and now everything is fixed
The game crashes when ever I use the chao machine and when I get in it it doesn't show words just picture frames. The day and night cycle doesn't work either. When I use that it changes the characters and chaos color.
Can you boot SA2 through Steam or do you have to boot it through the mod manager? If through the mod manager, how do you use a controller if possible?
It's preferred to boot SA2 from steam after applying the codes. If you boot from mod manager it uses the last controller setup you used IIRC
i know this sounds dUmB but,,, how do i get all the chao egg colors? ;w;
Can you help me!? I got the mod and mod loader and all mods add but when I try to click the chick boxes it's just stops responding and wont work how do I fix this? It just says mod leader not responding.
When enabling mods, especially CWE, it's normal for it to take a bit of time for it to load/respond. Let it sit for a few minutes to enable the mods.
I'd love to do this and try this stuff out, but the mod manager doesn't even open on my PC? Does it need installed first?
Mod Manager only needs to be extracted and placed into the common SA2 folder. Maybe check if your antivirus software is blocking it in any way?

I'm trying to get a different texture for the chao garden but when i go into the chao garden with the texture in the mods file it doesn't show.

Some garden textures require you to hold X or Y button before loading the Chao World

This tutorial is great, and I've followed every step to a T, but for some reason when I hit save & play, or click on the app to open the game, i get the error messages "The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_42.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." and "The code execution cannot proceed because XINPUT1_3.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." I'm not sure what to do. Do I need to reinstall the Mod Loader?

Thank you! I was able to fix it with this video I was trying to add new mods but screwed up the files and lost the codes and it all went down hill from there bug I watch your video to reinstall it back again now it’s all there again thanks. I just sub you now .

When I downloaded the mod loader, it comes up with version f4891.7z and when I right click it it doesn't have the option to extract the folder. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, please help!
Do you have 7Zip installed? That program will allow you to extract 7z files

hi SapphireChao! this tutorial is great! Im having a little trouble tho with the mod loader that I havent seen anyone else have. I followed all your instructions as you said and triple checked to make sure everything was in the right folder, but when I double click to load the mod loader, nothing ever shows up, not even an error code. can I please have some help?
never mind! I discovered that I simply needed to trick Steam into thinking the mod loader was a game. thanks so much for the tutorial!
Is there any way to speed up reincarnation? Someone told me to abuse the choa but that didn't seem to work. (I'm still playing vanilla at the moment).
Abuse will kill the Chao instead of reincarnation, so I suggest avoiding that. If you're using vanilla GC/Xbox/PS3, there isn't a way to speed it up unfortunately. You can use Fusion's Chao Editor for the vanilla PC to alter garden time though!

It can sorta be like cheating as your using a tool to make it easier for you, leaving your PC on while you're unpaused in the garden can still work though!

I know you are probably going to skim right through this but please listen. I was wrongfully banned from Chao Island just because I have multiple personalities and when one of them was talking the other users thought it was an rp, it wasn't. When the alter told them that it wasn't only Ace understood. The alter said multiple times that I have multiple personalities and I type with their name first. It's the host typing this. Mooncow banned us because we have multiple personalities. Which isn't fair, they also banned us from the forums. The only reason why we even joined in the first place because we wanted to make friends, you also gave me confidence to join. Please understand that I have multiple personalities and please help us return to Chao Island.

My 7za is named 7z when I downloaded the files. Is that a problem or no?
Also I tried both of the methods to fix the crash when you first load into the game, but neither worked.
Chao discord got shut down while I was gone so I'm outta the loop. Do you still plan on making chaos videos?
Most of the fam have moved to Chao Island discord. I'm taking a hiatus for the time being, but still planning on making more chao videos in the future :>

@@gabriellewallace2154 This is an older version of CWE in the video, so you will need to click on the 'configure' button when Chao World Extended is highlighted in the mod manager

oh goodness..... so I tryed to install a mod but for some reason it didn't work and everything was deleted. my brother tried to delete the mod but it wouldn't show any delete button and we don't know what to do. im sorry if this bothers you. and mod I installed was sa2 randomizer from game banana. thanks so much if you can help. other then that have a great day!
If you’re still having a problem, in the mod manager you can uncheck mods you don’t want anymore

How do I tell the difference between a newly hatched two-tone normal & two-tone white Chao?
You can when you start petting it with a Dark character. If the highlights are getting white, it's a White Twotone.

What can i do if the mod manager makes the game crash at omochao?
Keep rebooting the game, it's known to crash upon startup sometimes

This isn’t related to the vid but I want to know how to reset your chaos garden (on SA2B GameCube) I know that the chaos garden and the..rest..of the game are different thing or something x) but like..once I delete all my games files on my memory card but it didn’t delete my chao garden..file..I don’t know if it make sense 😓 but yea..how do you reset a chaos garden? 😅
Delete Chao save file from the memory card menu (hold L R at the console entry screen)
There should be a separate slot showing a Chao, it take up about 8 blocks. Deleting thatshould only remove Chao garden data but keep SA2's data

im having a problem
When i open the modloader,It says "Didn't found "!ChaoWorldExtended/!ChaoWordlExtended" This mod will be now removed from the list. And it continues with other mods then it turns on without an single mod.
Did you extract the zip and place Chao World Extended into the mods folder?
i know this is random and has nothing to do with this video but when I went into fusions chao editer and messed with the garden time and magnitude for second eveloutoin 2 of my chao died even with full happiness and the rest just keep reincarnating
Be careful with garden time, because Chao can age VERY fast.
Did you have other mods enabled such as Chao Can Drown, Chao Attention, Hunger's Difficult, More Sick Chao or Bully Chao? These can lower a Chao's happiness to the point they may not be able to reincarnate

I set the time back to normal and it didn't fix it
and its really annoying, if theres no way I might have to reset even though I don't want to because I have some important chao, and I also don't want them to be reincarnating eather should I restart the game?

Double check your settings for Fusions Chao Editor and make sure garden time is at the default (120). It should usually defer back to default values when you exit and reenter the garden.

Have you downloaded the correct version for your computer? (e.g. 32 or 64 bit)

Once downloaded, you should be able to extract by right clicking on the file, the choose 7Zip > Extract here
How do I know when a Chao is at full second evolution?
normally 3 years into their life cycle. you should check out the rest of her vidoes they are great look in the playlist for chao tutorial stuff

This is only available for the PC version, this doesn't work for any other console versions (DC, GC, PS, Xbox, or emulated equivalent)
