They have a tuneless chirp but its always cheerful. (Well, tuneless to my ears, not melodic like a robin, for instance.)

​@@lynetterudman I know what you mean about their chattering. I remember looking up into a tree outside my lounge and there was this male Sparrow who was having a bit of time out having a snooze with eyes shut. After 15 mins he returned to his group. Wonder if the females know what he was up too LOL so funny and human like.
