They were so pretty!! best part is I wasn't afraid to plant them since I got them for 75% off at end of November. So even if the deer ate them, I lost some time (for planting), but at least not too much money. They turned up so pretty and made me so happy.
Your spring garden is just beautiful. We had another snowstorm a couple days ago here in SE Wisconsin so we are patiently waiting for the daffodils to put on their blooms. I hope they like their white blanket for the time being
Love your garden tours! So enjoyable to watch. Your landscaping is beautiful! Great motivation for me! 😊. So many good ideas. Your garden is my goal! Many thanks from Charlotte,, NC.
The brunnera probably needs more water. They are very drought tolerant but like hostas, you get the best display if they don't stay dry all season. Just found your channel and I love it!
Hi Claire, I agree. I don't think it got quite enough water this year with it being a new planting and with our drought. I just couldn't get around to it enough. I'm hoping at least a couple pull through to next year. Then I will be sure to keep them more watered. Thank you so much for your kinds words, and for being here on my channel.
Your landscaping is gorgeous! I love the spring flowers and Bleeding Hearts are one of my favorites! It'll be fun to watch your yard develop over the summer! Thanks for sharing Steph!
Steph, it’s all looking beautiful! And you’re so calming…I watched this before bed and it was so peaceful. It makes me want to try to record a very calm whole property garden tour too - it’d be a good break for my 120mph usual self! 😂
Hi Steph!! Aww thank you so much!! 💚 you haven't seen me when I have coffee 🤪 I can always tell when they give me regular coffee instead of decaf 😂 I'm glad you enjoyed it and it helped you relax before bed, maybe even put you to sleep! Can't tell you how many times I've fallen asleep while watching relaxing videos only to be rudely woken up by my phone dropping on my face 🙃 Your great and I love your 120mph personality!! Thanks for watching! 💚
Your gardens all look gorgeous as they are waking up from the winter sleep. Looking forward to seeing how they will look as the growing season goes on. Thank you for the lovely tour and have a wonderful day.
Lovely gardens...really enjoyed the tour...your Brunnera may be too dry next to trunk of tree and morning sun with afternoon shade is best for northern gardens...just my opinion but hope this helps!
Your gardens and lawn are beautiful! Is the garden design all your doing? Love the DT wastebaskets to protect plants. I bought 12! I am a new sub and I love your content!
Hi Pamela! Welcome! And thank you so much!! Yes the gardens have all been planned and planted by myself, along with the help of my husband when things are too hard to dig up or heavy to carry. Its been alot of fun. We started with a blank canvas. So its been an ongoing process. It brings me alot of joy. I'm so happy you were able to get 12 of those baskets! It's such a great alternative to more expensive cloches. They work really well for smaller plants. I also have about 12. Take care! 🌱
Love your channel - your property and gardens are stunning~ Thanks for taking us along for a tour - we look forward to updates during this growing season♥
Your yard is gorgeous. Your lupines look amazing. I winter sowed some for the first time and they are sprouting in the jug! So excited to see if they make it.
Yay!! My lupine you see here were all winter sown! So I'm thinking yours will do just as well. They like average soil so while I typically add compost to my planting holes, I didn't when planting out the lupine. No fertilizer, nothing just dug a hole and planted and kept them watered for a couple weeks then they were in their own! Tough love 🤪 as for the tulips, I did them in mid winter. I always worry about them rotting outside un the pots. So in my zone 6b, I assemble the pots end of February or by 1st week if March. Then set the pots outdoor, water them in and let the elements take care if the rest. Just be sure to keep your bulbs in a dark cool spot. I keep them in paper grocery bags in my unheated garage until I'm ready to pot them up. I have a vid I made a couple months ago called "tulips in pots" that might help a bit too. Thanks for watching! Take care 🌱
Beautiful Steph!! Just live the thought you put into your garden !! It will be cool to see you neighbors starting to do the same. Just wait, it will happen ;) Question, do have or know any other great youtubers that garden in heavy clay soils. I'm interested in learning more about it as Colleen's Momma is in southern Illinois. Hope you have a great weekend!! Cheers Jason and Colleen 🌱🌱🌱
Lol thanks so much guys! I'm pretty sure my neighbors think I'm crazy always digging holes outside 🤪😂 Moya over at Garden Addictz gardens in clay soil. So she ammends her soil alot to help. But also, she recently created a new garden and built it up with the soil (lile a berm) to plant into good soil vs. Digging into the ground (clay soil). She is in Maryland I believe. I will awe if I think of or come across any others. Maybe also Jay at Jay's Garden Journal.
Steph, your garden is absolutely gorgeous! I love all the Japanese Maples dotted throughout your lovely landscape. I listened three times, but couldn't understand the name of the spirea you highlighted at the 24:05 - 24:20 time stamp. What did you say it was called? I think I need to get one of those for my landscape. Have a great weekend! ~Margie

When you plant your tulips in pots do you do it in the fall and just put the pots in the garage?
