Great race from both legends👏
Jimmy has got to be loving every second of driving this Aston. Classy driving.
Proof that nascar drivers are as skilled as any other driver around the world
@@Lcngopher sure, one guy from NASCAR proves it. Now have them drive Le Lans and formula 1 and we can talk. Been 30+ years since the US produced a world class driver. Where are the Andrettis of this generation?
@@55Bentley6 The argument that U.S. hasn't produced a "world-class" driver in decades overlooks the inherent differences in motorsport cultures between Europe and the U.S. The lack of American drivers in Formula 1 isn't indicative of a lack of talent but rather due to the structure of American motorsports, where NASCAR and Indy Car are the pinnacle.
Many NASCAR and Indy Car drivers have the skill to compete internationally but choose to focus on different racing series. American motorsport is still producing world-class talent, even if it's not in Formula 1, and drivers like Kyle Larson, Colton Herta, and others are modern-day examples of that skill level.
@@55Bentley6 carl edwards over schumacher in the race of champions also proves it
@@55Bentley6 jimmie ran le mans in 2023
This is always been some kind of question we don't race in Europe because we don't want to race in Europe we have our own stars we have our own cars and we have our own way of racing it's always been that way and I'm sure it probably always will.
Jimmie Johnson must be thinking "THIS IS stock car racing."
Fantastic to watch! Great drivers
Im a looong time race fan...I track myself from time to time....and I HAVE TO SAY that watching Jimmy and Dario dominate this field was just mind blowing. I dont know the specs on this Aston vs the other cars.....and I know both these guys are pros, but the other drivers are not dead heads. At the start JJ just left everyone!!!!!!! wow....just wow...........u can see on this vid how locked in he is..his eyes...his twitching arms.......locked what an amazing vid to be in the car w/ them......thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jimmie Johnson is back to his winning ways
Love the sound of a 6 on the overrun.
Just so good to listen to a race car at full song without someone talking all the time.
Nice driving, Jimmy! That 1/3 Yankee Dario had it a bit slippier, but wasn't bad either..
Never underestimate any NASCAR driver just because they are (mostly) American.
definition of smooth controlled driving--this is a difficult track to maneuver -especially in the old beasts on skinny tires-great action! (although the Aston appears to handle way better than most)
Great drives both but hats off to whoever built that engine - to gap a Cobra in a straight line is no mean feat!
This is great !! WAtched the RAce now I can be in it
I guess people around the world don't understand these NASCAR drivers grew up from little kid racing go karts into shifter karts and up into all of the other ranks that would be needed to be in formula One Indy car NASCAR NHRA whatever class you want to race.
I mean Jimmie hasn't being that good in the cup series since 2017 but he doing good here, dispite dnfing a lot this year in the cup side.
Jimmie is a damn good wheelman
Thee 7 time Nascar Cup champion???
One of them
Yes
7 Time knows how to get around. Vodka Martini 🍸”shaken not stirred “in the winners circle thanks chaps.
so much opposite lock steering. Way more power than the rest.
not necessarily true...... I dont know the specs but Id say this car is 280-350 ish?......the others are very equal
He's giving that speedo a workout! It's got the stutters...
Did anyone check lap times between JJ and DF?
great thought.......I thought same
I did, but only for a lap for one, then for other. You can tell without any checking that Jimmie was going faster, he put tires right there on the limit constantly.
Dario was lapping on about 1'31 pace, and J was doing 1'29-1'30.
Lol when I was taking Darios laptime on first try, I've got it ruined by safety car, and I was frustrated, perhaps less than Dario, but I was too haha, he seemed only to have started pushign the car towards the end of his drive.
Today I have been doing physics for this car for rF2 sim, and was testing them on Goodwood track, which I also made :) Feels nice, and I got the physics close already :) It is not the lightest car, even though it is powerful it requires very precise maintaining of momentum. And although these drivers makes it look very easy to glide in slides with it, it is actually very tricky. It won't necessarily forgive too large yaw angles, and it might be one of those cars with little more danger of tank slapper. But feels super rewarding to keep it on the limit, and is surprisingly fast for being so heavy. I have set it to 1220kg with a driver. It might be even heavier than that. A lot heavier than LW Etype, 250GTO, quite a bit heavier than 250SWB.
I would need to 'Beef-Up ' that skinny steering wheel...and keep a strident eye on the gear box.
the orig style wheel sets the mood!!!!!!
Ahaha there are more cameras on the grid girl than the car....
