Great video man. Absolute Gold value. I wish you would make like a small video demonstration on how how and when to use Patterns vs templates and the put it all together in a final site. Also I wish you would build a beautify full site to show us what are yhe possibllities with this new block editor as well as its limitations. So that way if someone sees your video they will get an understanding on if they should use the block editor or go for something else. Thanks again. 👍
Great video! I even followed along. I've been working with WP for several years, but I'm just getting started with Block themes. I *think* I understand, but I think I'm still confused, and I think for me it boils down to these two areas. First, WP did a poor job of delineating the structure vs. content in Gutenberg. I mean, why the hell am I able to insert text and images into a Template?! This should not be allowed, and instead WP should just display dummy text/images. On top of that, a Template looks - visually - just like an editable Page, which is supremely annoying. Secondly, I think that the naming of all the components only adds to the confusion (Group vs. Template Part vs. Pattern). The Pattern is somehow the least intuitive of all the names. It's probably too late for any of this to change, and hopefully the WP team will clear things up with a more streamlined interface. Nevertheless, I'm excited about all of the possibilities that Block/Gutenberg provides, without a page builder (and for free, no less!) but there's no way that I will be recommending it to WP newbies anytime soon. For now, I will just have to keep learning, cussing, watching videos, learning more, cussing more.
This was a huge help. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the words of encouragement! I’ll try to do a full build video but I’m not a designer 🧑🎨
Great stuff, Matt! Thank you.
Thanks for watching, Anne 🙏
