My Sensei was a student at Keio University, late 1940s/early 1050s. He was a student of Tamaro Yoshida who was taught by Gichin Funakoshi. Great to see these historical pictures. Great video. Thank You.

Great film. Very nostalgic for me, I have trained at Keio Dai.

One would have thought that a “history” Keio University would have some narration. This is NOT a history. It is just some old pictures, which are fine, but not a history.

Where can I get the recording of the students singing the karate song? It’s beautiful.

Thank you for watching our video. This song was recorded a long time ago, and not sold.

You just forgot to add that O-Sensei'Funakoshi DOES NOT ADMIT COMPETITION!
“In Karatê-Dō there is no competition!!!”
To omit this fact is to dishonor O-Sensei'Funakoshi name!

If Keio University Karate is allowing students to compete, then they have lost their identity.
