We used to have a radio playing in the Hobby Shop at MCAS Yuma when we were working through the night on the race car. With music going it was easier to focus on what we were doing (and lose track of time.) Now I use a Bluetooth speaker when I'm out on the driveway, working on Ethyl.
Thank you both for being so lovely & entertaining. Watching you distracts me from some of my chronic health problems, another reason I find you both so delightful.
I have been in Colorado since 1968 and moved from Amarillo to Denver. I don't miss Texas folks until I watch your episode's. You and Aaron and the banter brings me back home. Ya'll I'm fixin to mash the like button😁
Definitely keeping the nation in prayer over the coronavirus! Thanks for sharing this install. I have a 48 Chevy pickup with the tank under the bed which I think that pump might work well with. Thanks!
You could also look in the other sending unit hole to ensure the tightening lugs have seated properly and not catching on anything inside the tank. I've had problems with some of the universal kits I've used.
Another great episode! What a kindly message at the end Emily, I’m sorry to hear that your modelling has taken a big hit. Almost all my family (18 of them!) were in advertising, I know that in a crisis it’s one of the first sectors to come to a near halt. Yes it’s tough for everyone - it’s pretty bad here in Paris, France but we weep for you in the US of A. But a huge thank you to both you and Aaron, your happy, informative programmes are exactly what we need🥰
Looking forward to seeing more of this Bronco! I am with Aaron on that Texas country is great! I liked how he went into detail about how that little lip/groove could have caused problems. I don't think I would have caught that otherwise. Also, I ended up watching all of your drag week yesterday but didn't wanna keep blowing up your comments! Watching you progress and learn how to drive was AMAZING! Congrats on how well you and Roxy did! Stay safe during COVID-19.
Awesome job you guys!!!! Yall work so great together!!!Thanks for the prayers...I also pray and thank God everyday for waking everyone up,health, strength, understanding, blessings, and the overall well being of everyone...Thanks!!!! Much love!!!! Shouts from the Memphis area...
Love y’all so much here in Robinson Tx. Being in the aircraft structures world for 36 years, After grinding tank surface I would treat or prime surface before installation of pump. Will prevent corrosion on that surface. ♥️
Always interesting content. Getting ready to install a new fuel sending unit in my 95 Tahoe. I've never installed one before but thanks to you guys I have an idea of what to expect.
You two take care of yourselves as well. We may have a rough road ahead, who knows. These videos take us away for a few minutes, and that is worth a lot, Emily. Thank you.
Bob Bond For me there are only two kinds of music, Rock and Roll. Years ago when I worked for a major aftermarket header Company the R&D Dept which I was in charge of our shop radio would only pick up Rock and Roll .It was one of the better jobs that I have had.
Just keep the videos coming to us it very inspirational to get out and wrenching on our projects thanks for the prayers and love our prayers and love we return to you guys be safe
Hi Emily and Aaron ! I just wanted to say my wife and I love watching your channel . Thanks so very much for all the informative and instructive content that you put on your channel. I have 69 Camaro Z-28 that has been sitting in my garage for quite a few years . You have given me the inspiration to attempt to raise the dead . If you ever get near Nevada please look us up . Thanks again , Ron Vella
RonV682 We absolutely LOVE THAT, Ron! It always means so much for ya to hear feedback that we’re bringing couples together in the shop to make memories and build stuff they can adventure in ♥️♥️♥️
Hi Guys, Love your channel, been here since day one. content is always good and Emily is still Beautiful. I must admit, I can't help it, I have a Crush on you Emily. your sweet personality and mechanical skills in the shop is very entertaining. Betty is looking good, can't wait to see y'all having fun driving it. Please stay Safe and be Careful, things are a little crazy out there right now. looking forward to your next video. Peace and love always.
Hey guys great video. But can I make a suggestion. You should remove the pump again and paint the surface that Aaron welded and ground down. It being on the top of the tank moisture will probably settle on it and with no protection such as paint, will rust. But you've probably already thought about that. ;-)
You can take a running vehicle and run a hose from the exhaust pipe to the tank you want to weld on. Let it run on there and it will expel the gas fumes.
I enjoy your Video's and content. I would recommend that you swap out the "Pre-Pump Filter Sock" for a "Holley Hydramat" which doubles as a Pre-Pump Filter and as a" Pre-Pump Fuel Supply Reservoir" that eliminates Fuel Starvation especially when the tank is less than a quarter full during cornering and acceleration. I Installed a 15 Micron Hydramat 3" x 15" (# 16-111) directly to a Walbro GSS342 in my 2015 Sea Doo GTX iS 260 Limited PWC in a Fore / Aft orientation with the longer section facing forward so as not to possibly interfere with the level sensor. works far better than the OEM Fuel Pump Module with built-in crappy strainer and non-serviceable paper element filter (Deleted 2 OEM strainers and filter and modified the Module). This thing absolutely eliminates fuel starvation in rough conditions with under a quarter tank remaining (had starvation issues with stock system below a quarter tank). I recently ran the tank bone dry, simply amazing, I added a gallon and rode it safely back to the Dock. Highly recommend. Randy AKA randog311 (Retired Professional Wrench)
Hey guys! A link to get those Melling shop shirts would be cool, as would Flying Sparks Garage shop shirts! Just a thought. Glad you guys are well, thanks for another fun episode!
Love the content! But, I had to comment on the last part when you said you're using aluminum for the fuel system. I've seen what even E10 gasoline can do to aluminum in a fuel system. I hope you're taking that into consideration. Keep up the great content, God Bless.
Hey Emily, Just watched Scotty Kilmer's latest video (titled:Here’s Why Now is the Best Time to Buy a Car). He answers a question about the Pontiac GTO (I think that's Roxy's breed). He said that V8 was the last good GTO made. Don't let go of Roxy, she will always be a cut above the rest. Love your show.
I was thinking I'd put a larger piece of Holley's Hydramat on that fuel pickup so there's little chance of uncovering the pickup at lower fuel levels when going off road. That little piece of filter they included in the kit seems kinda small.
What brand is the sending unit you guys used there? I need to replace the Holley one that came with my sniper kit. The only weak link in their kit, it makes more noise than a leaf blower! Oops... sorry, re-watched and saw you say 'awesome fuel sending unit from Holley'. Now my question is how much noise does that one make? Thanks!
I've never heard a pump called a sending unit. The "sending unit" that I know is the electronic (or mechanical in the old days) mechanism that "sends" a tank volume signal to the gas gauge. Oh well, always something new!
As Ya'll are in my prayers, I pray for this entire country. Things are business as normal at the dog kennel, we remain largely unaffected. Keep it comin, love you both (and Finley too)
I think the "channel" wouldve been a reverse tongue and groove one lip goes over and snags on the other then gets crimped. If you've ever worked with that galvanized exhaust pipe for gas hot water heaters or wood stoves that come flat... that type of groove 😂
I’m glad that didn’t turn into a Roman candle on you. We need both of you here. Should have shown filling the tank with inert welding gas or exhaust. That thought said, that fuel pump looks like a sweet install
Tell you a cool trick a friend showed me he took these earth magnets that were round with a hole in the middle. They slip over the shank on the hole saw and adhere to the saw. If you know anything about earth magnets they are the strongest magnets ever and they will not move while drill is rotating. And most all the shavings will stick to the hole saw very little clean up. You're welcome.
If your fuel pump filter sock is one inch off the bottom of the tank. Won't that mean you will always have one inch of fuel in the tank that your system will never be able to use?
It should have the name "in the shop with Aaron". The bulkead in the tank is there to keep fuel going to the pump. It was a baffle. No worries as you will keep the tank full all of the time?! Right?!
Boom Shakalaka Boom Shakalaka Boom Shakalaka Sounds like somebody has been watching the movie Stripes. That's The Fact Jack. Since you offered to help. I have some projects that I could use some help with .A 1967 Ford Mustang, a 1967 Ford F -100 and the newest one a 1930 Ford Model A Fordor. You can pick which ever one you want to work on.
Thanks for putting out a video. It helps to have new content coming in when you have to stay indoors all the time.
Emily, you're a Total Sweetheart, and we all love you too... also, we're a little bit jealous of Aaron. Lol! 🤣
We all love and appreciate both of you and will pray for your health and protection

You guys are caring and loving people, thank you for sharing your videos and talents ❤️👍😁
Thank you both for being so lovely & entertaining. Watching you distracts me from some of my chronic health problems, another reason I find you both so delightful.
Keith Haycraft Prayers for your healing and happiness, we’re glad we can bring a smile to your face! ♥️🙏🏼
Thanks for making my day so much better!!!!!
Thanks guys. Your keeping us normal in these crazy times.
Btw Aaron we use those holesaws too. They are great.
Keep up the great work.
Many thanks for the video, much appreciated, nice work and lovely words from you Emily.
Trying times for all of us.
I have been in Colorado since 1968 and moved from Amarillo to Denver. I don't miss Texas folks until I watch your episode's. You and Aaron and the banter brings me back home. Ya'll I'm fixin to mash the like button😁
Terry Byrd Haha, that’s nice! Love it. Thanks so much!!
Definitely keeping the nation in prayer over the coronavirus! Thanks for sharing this install. I have a 48 Chevy pickup with the tank under the bed which I think that pump might work well with. Thanks!
So happy you guys are finally upgrading Betty. Keep up the great work and videos.
You could also look in the other sending unit hole to ensure the tightening lugs have seated properly and not catching on anything inside the tank. I've had problems with some of the universal kits I've used.

Great Video ! Flying Sparks 💥 Y'all Rock !

Holley is coming out with some bad ass stuff. Great job on the install. Looking forward to the next vid!
Nice install on the fuel pump guys. Really nice cut with that saw-bit you were using. Take care and hope to see another post soon.
Best of all to all
And you two stay home and stay safe too. Lots of shop time! LOL. Be safe!
Just keep the videos coming to us it very inspirational to get out and wrenching on our projects thanks for the prayers and love our prayers and love we return to you guys be safe

86 k love u! Such a beautiful couple! Enjoy both of u vids!
Nice job! I really like the vintage wheels on the bronco :)
I love this couple. Stay safe and virus free. Get it.

It being on the top of the tank moisture will probably settle on it and with no protection such as paint, will rust. But you've probably already thought about that. ;-)
LestersCustomTrkShp Thats a good point... we taped the pump off and painted around it but there wouldn’t be any paint underneath m 😟🤔
Don't forget to put some paint on that bare metal. Rust can undermine a good gasket. God bless all y'all 🙏
RustBucketResto - Dan Simmons Another guy said that, we certainly missed that!

Good idea on the weld. Very cool video and good install video.

God bless you and your loved ones. Stay safe and positive, we'll get through this challenge as well.
I always purged tanks with Nitrogen before grinding on them.
I have a saying. “Nitrogen is cheap”.. Just looking out for y’all.
Hey guys!
A link to get those Melling shop shirts would be cool, as would Flying Sparks Garage shop shirts!
Just a thought.
Glad you guys are well, thanks for another fun episode!
The quick chuck for the hole saw is pretty cool were did ya get the quick chuck and does it work with other brands of hole saws
Thoughts and prayers for all of you, from a huge fan, way up here in sharon,pa.
That intro! 🥰 Love yall!

Larry C he’s referring to the corrosive nature of Ethanol in today’s gasoline 🤓

AWESOME video as always. What saw was that Aaron used to cut the vent tubes?
Be safe, stay healthy, Vaya con Dios!
great video
I was thinking I'd put a larger piece of Holley's Hydramat on that fuel pickup so there's little chance of uncovering the pickup at lower fuel levels when going off road. That little piece of filter they included in the kit seems kinda small.
No case of the vapours for Betty ! Hope you and yours all keeping healthy as can be too... see you next time !

OK, I am ready for the next video! lol
If you're able to do it put you in excess hole above it so if it ever goes bad you can access the pump without dropping the tank
OH,YEAH! I did that.

Texas country! Tell Aaron to check out Mike and the Moonpies. They are an Austin band.
Is the tank baffled ? If not are you taking any steps to help prevent fuel starvation ?
I think the "channel" wouldve been a reverse tongue and groove one lip goes over and snags on the other then gets crimped. If you've ever worked with that galvanized exhaust pipe for gas hot water heaters or wood stoves that come flat... that type of groove 😂
Hot water heater?
i wasn't much for book learnin', but how did you get around the gas fumes??
Good video
Stay safe kids
Need to put efi in my monte carlo tank
I’m glad that didn’t turn into a Roman candle on you. We need both of you here.
Should have shown filling the tank with inert welding gas or exhaust.
That thought said, that fuel pump looks like a sweet install
maybe i missed it, but did you clean the shit out of the tank before clamping the assembly in place?
va4cqd The hole from the sending unit is still open, that’s where we’ll clean it!
If your fuel pump filter sock is one inch off the bottom of the tank. Won't that mean you will always have one inch of fuel in the tank that your system will never be able to use?
Emily, have you tried the Fast Fit gloves by Mechanix Wear?
Bill Ries I haven’t tried those yet!!!
What exact Holley kit are you using?
My Sunday is already better Emily doing a little Sly. What is Texas country, the only thing that comes to mind is Mr Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys.
Eric Corse Kevin Fowler, Roger Creager, Pat Green, Reckless Kelly and of course Willy Nelson.
@@joelbaumwart7303 Thanks I've og course heard of Willie but none of the others
Holy sniper efi fun
I am liking those hole saw's he has.
Gas tanks make me nervous, I always purge them with an exhaust hose when welding or grinding on them.
you guys get a tool want/wish list goin yet?
796 COLUMBIA TN. NOW A KNOW HOW TO PUT A PUMP IN.
It should have the name "in the shop with Aaron". The bulkead in the tank is there to keep fuel going to the pump. It was a baffle. No worries as you will keep the tank full all of the time?! Right?!

Is it okay to have butt connectors connecting wires inside the tank like that?
You may have issues if you do not get those metal chips out of the gas tank
My beer fridge is getting empty don't think you can help me there LMFAOO

Y'all don't call this Flying Sparks for nothin'! 8:12. The proper torque spec per B.O.M. is F.T.
40-60 inch pounds would be like 3.2-5 foot pounds btw 😂😂😂
Do not weld it. Use epoxy to smooth things.
