Really loving the vids using this mod. It's got quite a lot of potential for battles with the amount of faction and unit variety in the mod. Hope we can see something like an East German armor spearhead in West Germany next

Another text book case of why real life commanders use excessive amounts of air and naval artillery and air support.
By the way beach landings do not ever happen if there is resistance as the loss to ground capture would not be justifiable in this era.
If a beach landing was going to happen the attacker would have to destroy all resistance before deploying troops or just land somewhere with no resistance.

Actually either the government or most of Taiwanese don't claim themselves as China anymore, but this is mod based in 1992, back then most Taiwanese thought they were Chinese due to dozens of years of nationalist KMT style education and white terror.

Pretty sure Taiwan no longer considered themselves the 'legitimate China' by 1992 and instead had begun considered themselves another country with its own culture separate from China bet that time, but I could be wrong and am willing to take any correction if I am wrong.
To this day, Taiwan still officially calls itself the 'Republic of China' and uses the flag of China from before the communist takeover.
You're correct about the separate culture though. The dominance of the 'Han' culture in the mainland was enforced by the Communist party as a standardised 'Chinese culture', replacing much of the hundreds of smaller cultures that existed there. Taiwan retains her distinctiveness having never been under Communist control.
Maybe if you played against the AI, there would be less followers leaving.

if you want to make a story to why the chinese didnt have naval support but the british did
the Chinese Navy is rather small for its country's size, and would be busy battling the Republic of China Navy on the high seas, however the british have naval bases everywhere plus allies willing to go to war with them, so they would have Commonwealth Naval Forces to spare while fighting the People's Liberation Army Navy.
