Hi guys. Hope you've sorted out the leak by now. Probably a seal on the rear shock absorber gone. You don't want to get oil on your rear tyre, so best fix it asap! Reminds me of when I bought a brand new motorbike back in 1980. (Yamaha DT175 MX) Took it out for a ride, got 15 miles from home, and the back started skidding all over the place. Looked down and saw petrol pouring from the carburettor all over the back tyre! Had to shut the fuel off and push the bike back home. My brother helped me take turns pushing the bike, and mum and dad came out in the car with a flask of soup. Got home about 3 am! Turned out the manufacturers had left metal swarf in the float chamber of the carb and that made to dump valve stick open! Sorry for the long story, just thought I'd share it with you! 🙂
The terraced hillsides and the clouds hugging the mountainsides are so cool! Fresh squeezed cactus juice! Was a good day... up until the oil leak! Ugh!

Love seeing the clouds around the mountains and you are riding above them. I wonder what the guard dogs would have done if you went towards their larmas? Today was the start of the end of proper rear suspension damping then.
Agree with other comments. Appears rear shock is blown. Once all the oil leaks out your ride is going to be very bouncy. Sucks. Will need replaced or rebuilt. Good luck.

I'm addicted to watching your TH-cam videos. I also ride a Suzuki DL1000 and love it. I did have the rear shock fail. When the shock failed, there was no more riding my Suzuki . Seems the shock holds up the rear end, and when mine failed, the rear fender came into contact with the fender. If you suspect the rear shock is failing, it is a necessity to get another ordered asap. Great job on your videos! I hope your rear shock holds up cuz I'm waiting to see more of your adventures, yeah!
It's a leak from the rear shock, no problem driving like this until you find another shock - but avoid bumpy roads! replace it with another one that allows a higher load. Luck
@@LaviandOllie After you changed out a new shock, you might want to cover up the rear shock with a protector sleeve which can prevent dust or sand to wear out the shaft and seal pre-maturely. On the other hand, the shock might have given up due to heavy loading on the rear. 😬
It looks like it could be the rear shock but there are also brake lines in the area of the shock. if it’s the shock you can still ride with it like that but the handling will be off so be careful, if it’s the brake line you can still ride the bike also but be very careful these bikes have linked brakes so it should be the last option, stay safe guys
As others have commented guys .. Shock has gone .... Now don't Panic .... Look at the punishment it has had, all those off road miles , that washboard road surfaces etc etc .... Get it changed as soon as poss and expect too change it again before this epic journey is done. Your doing great 👍
More than likely your shock absorber is leaking ! Probably get a bit bouncy as the recoil in rear spring is not being Absorbed. Honestly guys doing a great job especially after the skid on fuel in the road 👍
