you know the international 7.3 idi was all gear and you can also get a gear conversion for the chevy engines and slo for the Chevy diesels my old 6.5 has a gear conversion
😂 I have both trucks duramaxs are garbage u can’t even compare the two when it comes to strength. Duramax will gap my 12v but my 12v had came to save my Chevy many times and the Cummins never failed me ever
Hey so I got a question if if I didn't have any special kits to set the timing on a p7100 pump 12 valve Cummins can I just look for the notch marks hold the engine and put the new pump with the gear back in its original notch that are in dentation in the gear that would be a big help because I've been still having a hard time understanding when they say set the pump timing I'm going to be putting a new p7100 pump on a 12 that I was having some issues with the pee pump number one delivery valve so I'm just installing a new pump but I was curious as if I could just set the timing and lock the engine on top dead center with the PIN the black plastic and steel pin whatever it's made out of up underneath to the gears to stay locked that pain that is up underneath the p7100 pump can I just lock the gears in look at all the little indentations in each gear just like how you show here and then pull the pump put the new pump on and can you spin the shaft which I haven't pulled one off yet on the p7100 pump by hand to make sure that little tiny arm or leg they talk about up on the side driver side you pull that bolt off and it's plastic to make sure that it's in the center and then just put the timing gear right back on with the invitations of where the last pump was if I'm not changing no timing I'm just putting it back to original I would think that you should be able to do that
@smokiethebear3334 Ford has nothing but trash diesels, and Chevy has an independent front end, v8 diesel, and auto. It's more or less a heavy half ton. Cummins guys don't need a leg up but I'm flattered you think so. 😂
So simple and elegant. I love it. Only have 225k miles on mine, barely broken in.
The resion it is gears is becaus they 100% beter than a chane and 1000% beter than a belt. that is built for longjevity.
Nothing a little dowel can't fuck up
Idk I guess time will tell but we started using timing chains for a reason but yea timing belts were just retarded to begin with

Love this
Very basic "bullet-proof" simple gear train. Keep them properly lubricated and they'll be there for many years.
Buen vídeo saludos
Well technically the GM oil pump is larger and another technicality, the GM isn’t torn down having work done to it. It’s still driving.
Most likely he's doing mods to it. These engines are known to run over 1 million miles.

Looks similar to a Perkins Diesel.
Did you know back in the times of ol
dodge use Cummins and Perkins in there 5ton+ trucks? And they are very similar builds
Cummins engine

7 times the size lmfao. Thats sad because the Chevy diesel oil pump has the highest volume pump of any Domestic diesel engine.
He might have been talking about a old Detroit or 350 small block
@@connor4961not sure why he would be comparing that to a 12 valve pump
@@WillSwingemThat’s the only way Cummins guys can ‘get one up’ on other trucks.

А чё ремень зубчатый не поставели вместо шестренки? Как на Авто вазе.
This is a factory setup.
I can tell you are not use to working on Industrial Diesel Engines!!
I do daily lol
So f ing what!
Baby
Wow. Pictures of an engine,????? What for?
Because people like to look at stuff
Hey Greg…Your just hurt cause you don’t have a 12 valve…😅
@@thenomad7120 well actually I do have a first gen
Why all cars dont use timing gear?
