about the action of speeds, you don't say anything ... It's very poorly thought out, it doesn't fit the car at all. Few admit that it is not a good box. Try to tell the truth about cars, please. We're just saying it's a wow car, but it's not. The gearbox has nothing to do with the car. I am very disappointed.

Big big fan of Audi and the company’s design philosophy: understated luxury & performance. This is a car that has it all but doesn’t strut like a peacock to show it off.
Did u buy it new in 2017? And if that's the case, has it been reliable so far? There're some murmurrings about Audi's being quite unreliable so I'd like to know...
@@danielmann316 i bought it 2 years ago actually, i have had no problmes so far... it works fine, though when i bought it it was already at 130 000km ... it was very risky to buy but i did, i do little maintenance all the time, i drive normally and kind a careful so yea. I Agree. The batteries of electric cars get better and better. And the moment the solid state battery comes on the market. (Toyota plans this for 2021) then its over for petrol engines in the more expensive cars.
@@fragu123 the only emotion those old engines eminate is nostalgia. it is normal to miss old things (for me it'll be the manual gearbox) but the sooner you stop clinging to the outdated ways of living, the happier you will be.

I tried new s class 2021 , audi a8 and series 7 all last generations finally i bought A8 because i considered the best especially to road behavior and suspension . S class have very strong movement of body of car in curves , also in sudden brake and acceleration, not any joy to drive and not any trust in car to curves . If use the car only on motorway is ok but if use the car in roads with curves, avoid s class 2021 ! Noise isolation 60-62 db in sclass to 150 km/h and 58-60 db audi a8 150-170 km/h - audi win . Lights ok all but audi and bmw better - laser. Head up display ok all S class the best , back wheels s class 10 degree audi 5 and bmw 3 degree . Front seats in s class are too hard not so comfortable as in Audi A8 just in back mercedes have better seats similar maybe to Audi . Steering wheel quick touch control , seat control and climate control on tablet in s class all very bad working ....Dash board partially covered by steering wheel in corner is very ugly , even 3 d practical is not helping ! Using of big tablet is ok but don't expect to use so easy so intelligent or so predictable as to A8 for example ! The s class is the best only to ambient lights , really impressive , but cannot buy a car only because have nice ambient lights . Engine 435 hp to s type in s class is really 250-300 hp not so agile , gearbox not helping , serious lag in acceleration .Door handles s class very ugly and bad work, sometimes open too fast , sometimes cannot open .... Massage activating to audi and bmw very easy to s class only by some clicks on tablet- dangerous in driving . Massage better in Audi though s class is covering also seat area and may help on long trip ! Idea to talk with the car is stupid - disturb wife or vip passenger , children noisy make it impossible , if don't have good english accent don't work - ! S class have not autohold ..... Finally a8 is the best , than is series 7 and new sclass is third -is a real disaster to road behavior ,outside design and inside controls . Avoid s class .
Perhaps I missed this in the video, but do they use cylinder deactivation as part of making the V8 more efficient? Or just various types of variable timing? Thanks.

If you can and 100% want to, please do more of these. I would love that. Even nighttime shots and clips sandwiched in with daytime videos could be awesome as well, I feel. 😍 I really love these big, executive, luxury sedans...along with executive, luxury SUVs which I am glad to be seeing and experiencing more of. Comfort and silence are just my thing. That serene feeling is amazing with these luxury sedans/SUVs, I feel. If I had the money, the Flying Spur, the S8, the 7-Series, and the new S-Class would be mine. Also, some SUVs from these auto brands. 🤗

Thomas I just sat in this new car two days ago at my local Audi dealer, where I was buying a 2013 BMW 328i convertible. (traded out of my Jetta) These new S8's are $162,000 USD! Way too much, even for a S8 luxury model. I don't understand how they sell any, given the current economic condition in the world. Good review Thomas. Cheers!
Also ist der Audi GT, wie ich schon Kommentiert habe, tatsächlich lauter. Ich denke, Dämmmaterial erzeugt gewicht, was schädlich für E-Fahrzeuge ist. Auf jeden Fall ist dieses Auto grandios, besonders da es in meiner Klasse fährt, und zu meinen Lieblingsfahrzeugen gehört. Wie immer ein spitzen Test. Die Sache mit der Tier Haut, nun ja, kann immer wieder drüber nachdenken wie bescheiden daß ist, in diesem Fall natürlich wieder besonders traurig, da man wieder keine Auswahlmöglichkeiten hat. Danke und weiter so.

What a beautiful automobile. I’d say this should be classified as a 4-seater. That center hump in the back seat area makes it appropriate only for people you really don’t like :)
As far as comfort and feel, I could go without animal skin in cars, too. I like the scent of leather, though. Maybe they could offer leather fragrance in the future for the ambient air system which cars in this segment usually have. That'd be nice 🤔
This here when available with equal high grade leatherette or fabric/Alcantara. Like the User Inferface better here. New sclass is available with fabric seats though, but the new MBUX.... phew

I think the black optic package would give the S8 a mores stealthy appearance. As much as the E Tron GT is the future, that V8 grumble is intoxicating.
I really enjoy watching your reviews Thomas, they're very thorough. However, it seems that you review mostly cars (engines) that are intended for the US market. I think you should also have in mind the taste and needs of Europeans, you know, 2.0 and 3.0 diesel-powered cars that are robust and that give good mileage. Mit freundliche Grüße!
Agree. Perhaps we purchase a lease return and keep and maintain one for a quarter of a million miles and 20 years. Would cost the price of a new vehicle, but you'd have 600hp.
It is not trendy like A7 or SQ8 but for me much cooler car. Proper thing to crush continents. It is so incredible inside, only new S class is something really fresh and maybe more desirable but even that is questionable.
I agree with thomas on everything, except for leather, he hates it, I love it. I think all those cloth, recycled and vegan materials are great on a bus or a taxi, but for my personal car that I saved up for, and I'm buying, I want the real deal fresh leather

However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. Not using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Always excellent....well done 👌👍😁❤ Such a pity that the powers that be have demonized petrol and diesel engines...and that they have introduced legislation to make electric vehicles compulsory for so called environmental reasons (which I don't believe in....earth has experienced many ice ages and global warming before man was even on earth...never mind even cars...but that is my personal opinion and not up for debate). I also LOVE the fact that you promote animal skin free interiors. I am a vegan and animal lover so I really appreciate you promoting animal free interiors. The application of the complexity of a mild hybrid, with it's tiny marginal contribution to operating efficiency, but with additional complexity and cost is questionable in this application, where such a premium is already paid to enhance the pleasant high performance driving experience. This seems a place where Audi's solution to the green regulations puzzle is misapplied.
Audi was guided by the philosophy of Vince Lombardi when they made this car and that philosophy was "Gentlemen, we are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it because nothing is perfect. But we are going to relentlessly chase it because in the process we will catch excellence. I am not remotely interested in just being good."

Thomas I just sat in this new car two days ago at my local Audi dealer, where I was buying a 2013 BMW 328i convertible. (traded out of my Jetta) These new S8's are $162,000 USD! Way too much, even for a S8 luxury model. I don't understand how they sell any, given the current economic condition in the world. Good review Thomas. Cheers!

Also ist der Audi GT, wie ich schon Kommentiert habe, tatsächlich lauter. Ich denke, Dämmmaterial erzeugt gewicht, was schädlich für E-Fahrzeuge ist. Auf jeden Fall ist dieses Auto grandios, besonders da es in meiner Klasse fährt, und zu meinen Lieblingsfahrzeugen gehört.
Wie immer ein spitzen Test. Die Sache mit der Tier Haut, nun ja, kann immer wieder drüber nachdenken wie bescheiden daß ist, in diesem Fall natürlich wieder besonders traurig, da man wieder keine Auswahlmöglichkeiten hat.

What a beautiful automobile. I’d say this should be classified as a 4-seater. That center hump in the back seat area makes it appropriate only for people you really don’t like :)

As far as comfort and feel, I could go without animal skin in cars, too. I like the scent of leather, though. Maybe they could offer leather fragrance in the future for the ambient air system which cars in this segment usually have. That'd be nice 🤔
Sure thats technically no problem to offer that. Animal leather only smells that way because it is treated with a sent

This here when available with equal high grade leatherette or fabric/Alcantara. Like the User Inferface better here. New sclass is available with fabric seats though, but the new MBUX.... phew
@@autogefuehl Thxs! I'm also not fun of leather seats... I test draw new S and still got a more pros for A8...amazing how much they catch up a class leader (M) ! The challenger (A) must do it all better, hope with facelift they even get sharper ? :-)
I think the black optic package would give the S8 a mores stealthy appearance. As much as the E Tron GT is the future, that V8 grumble is intoxicating.

However, it seems that you review mostly cars (engines) that are intended for the US market.
I think you should also have in mind the taste and needs of Europeans, you know, 2.0 and 3.0 diesel-powered cars that are robust and that give good mileage.

Agree. Perhaps we purchase a lease return and keep and maintain one for a quarter of a million miles and 20 years. Would cost the price of a new vehicle, but you'd have 600hp.

This has a much better and more cohesive interior than the new s-class. But the s-class looks much much better on the exterior. Very hard to choose.
It is not trendy like A7 or SQ8 but for me much cooler car. Proper thing to crush continents. It is so incredible inside, only new S class is something really fresh and maybe more desirable but even that is questionable.

I agree with thomas on everything, except for leather, he hates it, I love it. I think all those cloth, recycled and vegan materials are great on a bus or a taxi, but for my personal car that I saved up for, and I'm buying, I want the real deal fresh leather

In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse?
The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination.
For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car.
In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter.
Not using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Always excellent....well done 👌👍😁❤ Such a pity that the powers that be have demonized petrol and diesel engines...and that they have introduced legislation to make electric vehicles compulsory for so called environmental reasons (which I don't believe in....earth has experienced many ice ages and global warming before man was even on earth...never mind even cars...but that is my personal opinion and not up for debate). I also LOVE the fact that you promote animal skin free interiors. I am a vegan and animal lover so I really appreciate you promoting animal free interiors. The application of the complexity of a mild hybrid, with it's tiny marginal contribution to operating efficiency, but with additional complexity and cost is questionable in this application, where such a premium is already paid to enhance the pleasant high performance driving experience. This seems a place where Audi's solution to the green regulations puzzle is misapplied.
