- The opening cutscene of TY the Tasmanian Tiger, the charming Aussie 3D character platformer from 2002.
The video game begins with TY the Tasmanian Tiger running through an Australian forest complete with native birdsong.
Soon we see TY's platforming skills in action, though he gets caught by his bilby "brother" that he's been running from. The game of tag continues.
Now he's "it". They start to run, expect TY falls into a cave, and meets the Bunyip Elder.
The Elder tells TY about a battle that happened between Boss Cass, the power-hungry cassowary, and Tasmanian Tigers, protectors of five mystic talismans.
Boss Cass opens the portal by placing the final talisman. We see TY's family drawn into it and transported to the Dreaming. In their last act, they scatter the five talismans away from Boss Cass, and close the portal in the process.
Find the five Talismans, put them in the carvings, and the portal to the Dreaming will open! TY's family will be saved!

So much nostalgia from this intro! One of the best ever, by far.
I still think the 3D is so good for its time. Love the water and little pebbles and such in the forest.

At 2:46, there’s a missing voice for one of the Tasmanian tiger.

I've noticed this since the switch remaster, I let them know along with other problems and they said they'd look into it, but I guess it's not going to get fixed, it really does annoy me that the line is missing, and all that's heard is an awkward silence followed by boss cass replying to no one
@@cafehijinks4282 The original Xbox version didn’t have it either, to be fair; since I grew up with that version, hearing the line is very jarring.
@@cafehijinks4282 So apparently, Krome had lost the original source code from Ty 1.
Luckily, a lot of the source code files from Ty 1, were on Ty 2.
Another thing was, that they actually had trouble cracking into an old archive cd for Ty 1 that they resorted to outside online help in order to get into it.
So it's likely that those lines, are just lost unless they somehow stumble upon it again. Which honestly I think is the only line that is missing. Which isn't too bad.
I must have been very lucky as a kid to play this game. This game is a hidden gem and it needs more people to see what a masterpice of a game this really is.

This game was one of my favorites as a kid. It was pretty unique, really liked the Australian theme; not a lot of movies/games are inspired by Australia

2- ew. why. 3 is by far the worst of all 4
Most of the hate on TY 3 is for the melee combat and the chassis modifications, but I personally love both of them. I like doing the bite>melee>air spin combo to instantly kill every enemy and my ring chassis has 2 water stones, 2 zoom stones, and 2 multi stones to wipe out enemies easily from far away and in large groups. I hope TY 5 has an improved melee system with a larger variety of chassis stones.

Maybe after 3 comes out. But they need to remake 4. 4 already exists but it was only on pc and in handheld 1-3 style

2:45 The line "Give it up Boss Cass" that one of the Tasmanian Tigers said in the original GameCube release is still missing and leaves just an awkward second of silence and makes Boss Cass's line "Never never never" come out of nowhere

But I already have the game and the second one on switch already and beaten both of them 100%. Would I still be supporting the biblies if I already bought the games?

Love this game so much even though you play it and little to the banger music for a good hour or 2 to Finnish a level to look for things but ^~^ 🎶

The one thing I'll take away from this game is, as a kid, when you first encountered the Lizard enemies I was crying like a little bitch because they were so scary.

Oh dang I have so many fond memories of this game the first one was my favorite the second one was great to the 3rd one I only played on the ds didn't like that I heard obviously the console versions were better can't wait to replay the first two games and finally play the 3rd game on a home console.
The third one is definitely better on consoles, But it's still the weakest of the 3

@@conormeade3849 oh really 2nd I didn't think was bad just I don't know was still really fun with mechs and bosses but I don't know the story in the first one is one of the biggest reason I love the first one more.
@@MadSociety-uy6zg my personal reason for preferring the second game is that the levels in ty 1 are too big and open, this isn't bad by itself, the issue comes from them being mostly empty, Bridge on the river Ty and Two Up are the only exceptions I can think of, both are tightly designed levels With minimal wasted space, On the other extreme there's Beyond the black stump and Rex marks the spot
Edit: I feel like I should clarify, I adore these games and grew up with them, But when completing the HD versions 100% I noticed that ty 1 has some level design flaws, Not enough to ruin the game but definitely enough to make ty 2 the more enjoyable game in my opinion
I remember thinking the GameCube had the best graphics of all time because of this cutscene

What happened to the thylacine's voice that goes "Give it up cass!" After Boss cass gets thrown out of the robot lol

Skip ty 3 remaster and make ty 5 in the style of ty 1 please.
They have to remaster TY 3 first so that they can have enough money to make TY 5. Plus the melee may be improved in the remaster.
@@Dante_Sparda_DMC I sure hope it’s improved because I’m worried they won’t make much money off of it at all if it isn’t. I was already weary of buying Ty 2 remaster because I don’t like some elements of that game but Ty 3 is even weaker in my opinion. They probably will remaster it just to finish the 3d series but yeah I hope they at least make the necessary improvements to the combat if they do. I’m just such a big fan of the more focused and curated Mario 64 like experience of Ty 1 and I feel like the sequels got way too distracted by other things that didn’t end up paying off.

@@nostrdamuslustknabe9889 while I can respect your curiosity, I’m sorry to say that the third game is easily the downfall of the series. It got so distracted in new, uninteresting mechanics and strayed so far from what made the series great. I will say that it is backwards compatible on Xbox 360 though if your able to get your hands on a copy of the Xbox version. Although I forget if 360 is region locked or not. But trust me you really aren’t missing anything but disappointment. The crab vehicle is kinda cool though I will say as one positive note lol.

It's one mouth, he just has the sides open most of the time, you can see him open his whole mouth when biting

@@padmanproduction6650 most anthropomorphic characters (Ty, Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet, Daxter, Sonic for example) don't have lips since it would just look weird on them
