Great run! I'm not super into the speedrunning community but I've seen the Tomatoanus video so I'm familiar with some of these strats, is there a good place to learn about the other strats used in 100% runs?
I still think it's funny that, in spite of the entirely deterministic physics of the game, Outer Wilds can _never_ be TASed... due to the Quantum things, specifically. How appropriate that _that_ is the main element of true randomness in the game (along with the tornadoes, the meteors, and the direction the cannon fires), and so even an Any% run still has randomness to some extent... (also the fact that the text is inexplicably faster _по-русски,_ acting as a slight spoiler-block, is still funny)
The tornadoes aren't actually random, they're all set at fixed locations, and they don't move at all. The jellyfish however, are very random, and are the largest RNG element in this category. The locations of the jellyfish are consistent, but their starting up/down positions are randomized. The any% run, in it's current optimal route, doesn't have any RNG involved at all.
Jesus, it's so satisfying watching you slingshot around BH like crazy
I cant believe it took me reading the initials of the planet for me to get the double entendre
Dark bramble, from hitting the entrance to juking the fishes, you basically avenged all of us who brutally die there.

There's something funny to me about sleeping for 3s for hotshot.
THEYVE DONE IT AGAIN
Congrats on the sub 41.
I still think it's funny how outer wilds speedruns require you to wait for the heatdeath of the universe.

My recent SGDQ run was shipless 100%, and my commentators explained a lot of the tricks used there. That would be a good place to learn more.
@@ptminsker appreciate you homie 🙌
That Quantom Moon skip is crazy
That's so crazyyyy GG ❤️

I always wondered if you could somehow get to the tower of quantum knowledge before it falls through the black hole! that was so stylish
Thats insane

@@ptminsker ...Huh. I thought at minimum, the Ancient Glade would be quantumly random since you have to look at three moon-textured trees to advance?
@@WackoMcGoose The trees are all in the same spots every time
Which recording software do you use?
OBS
is it possible to get the ship into the jellyfish for faster travel into GD's core? Does it save any seconds?
It was in early versions of the game but has since been patched out. You can only get past the electric field by abandoning the ship.
@@ptminsker ahh damn. I thought I remember seeing someone do that one time and I couldn't believe it, but makes sense that it's an early version now
What’s happening at 26:56 ? Are you quantuming out of bounds?
Yup. You can also check his GamesDoneQuick's shipless run from 2 months ago for an explanation. Pretty wild
Can I ask how many hours you have now in steam for Outer Wilds?
