Hi Vince I'm here sitting in a hospital bed and I have just watched you amazing video. The scenery and the beauty of kerry is amazing and the way you promote fishing and the wilderness is a credit to you. The Kerry tourist board and the people.e of Waterville and surrounding areas must be very happy with you and the effort you put into your videos. For me im in hospital and its I wish I could be out fishing even if I could only catch a stick fish hahaha. Thanks Vince keep us happy your an amazing man .
I recently came out of hospital after being a patient for 2½ years (medically things weren't quite as bad as that makes it sound, but just the same it was a pretty sucky couple of years, and that's even without considering the 'Kung~Flu', lockdowns, masks, etc, etc!) I don't even fish - if God had meant us to go getting alternately drenched and sunburnt and eaten alive by midges chasing after fish we might not even catch, and which regulations or the sporting instinct may well cause us to throw back our hard won quarry anyway, then He, in His infinite wisdom, would in all probability not have given us the gift of Burdock's! (A well known Dublin chain of fish'n'chip shops). Nevertheless Whenever one of The Mad Fisherman's videos 'dropped' it would be a highlight of my week and a much appreciated morale boost. I do hope your stay in hospital restores you to full health and you will be back, out and about, very soon!

Then i got into sea fishing with heavy gear. I did that for many years. Then i got into pike fishing eventually going back to river trout fishing again. Then I started lake fishing and I've been doing that for the last 25 years. Now it's time to try something new.

Ear plugs are the best. They'd help with those sheep. Great for flights and being in public in general. You should invest in a squeezable syphon. They're $12 and you wouldn't get tired bailing all that water. It'd probably be done by the time you got the engine to start. Then again a little exercise never hurt anyone. 👍
Your a wise wise man. If i didn't do the bit of exercise I'd be dead years ago. Bailing the boat probably added a year onto my life without a doubt. 😊 cheers. Mind yourself out there.
We know you love that wild lake. But how about fishing some others and the Inney if you can handle the overgrowth, untrimed trees and fishing running water ?
There's places down in Kerry that never see a fisherman from one end of the year to the other end. There's a lake in country clare called lough Dool i lived on the bank of that lake in a tent for roughly 7 years. Must go back there again. A great lake for brown trout. That's in the bucket list. 😂😂 time will tell.
@@Vincentdonnelly5158 Im now 67yo and and xpat, but have so many memories as a child and youth visiting mainly kerry. 1966 my father bought a dormobile camper van ! Hyhyhyhy every weekend we went camping....and fishing. My father just loved it, so we went with my twin sisters me and mum all over, for fishing. Then that easter we went to swansea to ferry and saw our home lifted..in a net onboard, and off to Ireland. We ended up just before Glenbeigh and father turned left before the Towers hotel. Rough track following a river. We parked on a little bit to the side. First light, river dropping i went spinning and had 3 silver trout in 3 casts each one over 2lb. I ran back and showed dad. I swear he took up his fly rod and CnR dozens. You could see the flash of silver as they passed ! We also wormed heavy overgrown tributaries of other rivers over the years.

But we've 😉 the most of it except the Covid...so it's great to see you and most of our friends and family out & about embracing the beauty of life that we are so privileged to live. Speaking of sheep, I read that last week a farmer in Kerry lost a grand total of 70 sheep savagely killed by roaming "pet" 🐕 dogs. Just imagine that ruination fir that man and his family is heartbreaking. Some people can be so irresponsible with regards to ownership and obligations of control of so called pet dogs. Our daught Ana, now 16y is concentrating on a career in Environment Studies flora & fauna. Gema has taken a year sabatical from office politics and is concentrating on Feng Shue...I'm just living the life, taking it at my ease enjoying my allotted time. Retirement from the hustle & bustle is such a pleasure, you'll definitely enjoy it Vince when your number comes up.

It had been raining for a few days. The people i rented the boat from must have forgotten to bale it out for me before i arrived. At least it was good exercise for me i must have lost a few pounds in sweat 😅 at least i always look on the bright side. Thanks for watching and commenting cheers my guitar friend.
Sorry for being so long getting back to you. I've looked all over the jacket and there's no name on it. It cost €120 as far as i can remember. But i wouldn't recommend it to anybody. First it's very very sensitive. It inflated going home one weekend after fishing my gear in the boot of the car very damp. Not wet but damp. I put my jacket into the boot and it went off. That cost about at least €30 to get a new canister. So if its raining and it gets wet it will go off. So i must keep my rain coat well zipped up and be very careful your on egg shells the whole time. It's just not worth it if i had my time over again I'd have bought something else. Sorry didn't know the name.
I f you are down Dublin way on an adventure gimme a shout perhaps, maybe we could make it a viewers/subscribers day out with a few the baii's. just putting that out in the universe.
