Yes, I think I'll give boiling batteries a miss Vincent! I did see the logic though! For getting all of the water out your boat you can buy a little pump that attaches on to a cordless drill and you just stick a bit of hose on. It acts like a hoover and sucks all the grit out too! We have holiday lets with hot tubs and I use it when I'm cleaning them out. Are there Pike in that lake? You should have a crack for them while you're camping. The trout you were catching are stunning. The Salmon fishing is a bit slow again over here. I went out earlier this week. Perfect water but saw and touched nothing! I can see myself dusting the trout rod off shortly! It's great to see you camping again. I love watching you in your element. Cardboard in the tea mug etc! At least it wasn't a big black slug like in 'summertime'. I still watch that on a regular basis! Still cracks me up laughing! tight lines mate and look forward to part two!

I used catch and sell pike a life time ago. Huge pike and lots of them. Then a new rule was introduced that you couldn't kill the big ones and only two a day. That was the end of me pike fishing. I often caught over 100 pounds of pike in a single session. They were the good old days before tags before limits even before clubs. I've saved a fortune heating batteries over the years. That's a first that they were so dead. I'll have to buy new ones for the next weekend I'm away. 😊
Dispense with that inflatable yoke Vincent and get a fold up bed. If it won't fit in the tent, put the tent on top of the bed and tie it down. I promise you will feel a lot better when the morning comes and, if you need to get up in the middle of the night, it is easier.

€1.50 in Deals or any value shop and you were 4 inches up off the ground... You should get some inflating device that works from the 12 volt connection in your car either that or a footpump which never fails 😊. Good to see you out and about.
It wouldn't be difficult to adapt the hose for the airpump to fit the tailpipe of your car. That would inflate the mattress rapidly. The only potential problems would be condensation inside the mattress if the engine was cold and/or carbon monoxide poisoning during the night if the mattress should fail. cheers.

It takes years as you well know to get to know a lake. There must be big trout in it. It will take time to get to know the hot spots must bring down my fish finder to get to know the depths where the fish like to hang out. But at least i can camp there at night not being hunted off the late for no good reason. I can cook up a breakfast go for a swim early in the morning and not be braking any new ridiculous new rules. All these rules ruin the pleasure for everybody. For now I'm happy learning about the new lake. Hopefully I'll get a big one maybe not today maybe not tomorrow but some day soon and for the rest of my life.
