- The first episode of the new series where I visit the record shops around me!:) We are now in East London and our first stop is Hidden Sounds in Bethnal Green. I was intrigued by the name of the shop and knew I was going to find a lot of gems. I was even lucky enough to find a pop-up section with some Japanese Records. But other than that, the shop offers you a great collection of 2nd hand records. Plus, upstairs is a very cozy coffee shop with a comfy living room atmosphere. Super friendly staff and well-curated collection of disco & downtempo spanning from Zouk, Latin and Afro to Italo and Synth/New wave, with plenty of rare records that are reasonably priced.

This place is great. Whent here and found myself having spent 5 hours listening to records, I told the owner what music I listen to and he gave me a stack of records that I really enjoyed. I left with a way bigger stack than I thought I would, 10/10 go here if you can

Are buying mostly the artists you know or the ones that you came across and found interesting ? I mean how do you choose if it’s worth it ?
A bit of both. But sometimes it's also fun to go to a record shop without any expectation and just listen to some records that you like by their cover. I had many times that I found amazing stuff without knowing anything about the artist.

They moved it to Ridley Road Market shortly after this was filmed. It’s still there
