- Nawal Haider Butt is a published young writer and activist, who is committed to her work towards children’s rights in Pakistan. Nawal works actively, in particular, to raise awareness regarding the moral and legal rights of young girls, especially in connection with child marriages. One of her most praiseworthy contributions is creating a petition to raise the minimum legal age for marriage for girls; upon discovering that the average age girls in Punjab get married was sixteen years, she called for it to be eighteen years.
At MM Talks Junior, Nawal speaks about the importance of having equal rights for all and the measures that need to be taken to secure every girls' future. Her efforts are exemplary and inspiring. It is such determination of the youth that can transform communities and have far-reaching, long-lasting impact.
