Abigail Kubeka is a veteran jazz musician and actress who comes from a renowned generation of musical greats of the likes of Caiphus Semeya, Leta Mbulu, Dorothy Masuku and Hugh Masekela. She is a singer, song writer and arranges her own music. Her love for acting has seen her land several TV roles in some of South Africa’s favourite dramas including Generations: The Legacy. She’s also appeared in a number of feature films.. Having received two lifetime achievement awards for her music, it is a clear indication of her success and musical prowess.

In the 80's at a Bloemfontein Show side venue, this phenomenal lady pulled me up on stage (I must have been tapping my foot). She was mesmerising and taught me to dance the Pata Pata. Afterwards a plainclothes cop asked me if it was staged and threatened to arrest me. This fantastic artist and human being conscientised me that day (and I believe some other abeLungu that were there). One word: LOVE ❤️
