FFVII Rebirth Rufus (No Damage, Hard Mode, No Materia, First in the world)

- First in the world to No Materia, No Damage, Hard Mode Rufus! After a day of planning and experimenting, how did I come up with this?
I began to realize that if I can find a way to do a lot of damage to him in phase 1, it will make phase 2 a breeze. BUT. That means I would have to stagger him TWICE in phase one without taking damage. So yeah, that’s not a breeze lol, and ask anyone that has done this fight, it requires a lot of focus lol.
So, I have to get 2 staggers in phase 1, AND I have to not do too much damage to him with the first stagger, because I need to stagger him again. If you do too much damage, you might not get the 2nd stagger before the forced phase 2.
Also, try to be in prime mode fury before phase 2, hit that limit to Rufus now that you did all the work in phase 1, and GG! - เกม
And then there's me who struggles on normal
Some tips that saved me: Triple Slash interrupts pretty much all of his moves and has the additional benefit of seperating him and Darkstar (target Darkstar and then go wild on him with Focused Thrust). If you hit him during Reload, Braver instantly staggers him.
Give it some time, you get better overtime
Cool tip for the Rufus fight is that each attack or shot from his gun will countdown from 8, since there's 8 bullets in a barrel. Once he runs out of bullets, he reloads so you know when to focus thrust his shit up. Then his guns akimbo move where he jumps and fires about 8 bullets, so he'll always have an opening after using this move.
Awesome! I’ve platinumed this game now but this was the hardest fight I did on hard mode. Rufus is a brat!

Smart move, it's good to see someone else using this form of strategy.
Sometimes staggering an enemy to early can work against us, in this case you used it to your advantage 👍

I stayed up until 4am the other night trying to beat this on hard mode. I finally did it, but i couldnt imagine doing what you did here. I actually never used disorder once i learned it and i almost never use punisher mode, but after watching this im gonna start using it more. Good job🎉
Huge congrats on beating this on hard mode!! 😄 Proud of you man, this fight is a tough one! And thank you!! Disorder and punisher mode are very good. I also recently learned that if you use disorder (while in prime mode this time) it launches you in the air haha.

@@matthewapril3119 I’m sorry, never saw this notification. But, yup ! don’t have to be in prime punisher. Regular punisher mode + disorder will launch you in the air too!

Some people are just really a talented gamer. For you to be able to do this in hard mode is crazy to me lol. I struggled with this fight on my first dynamic gameplay.

thank you bro!! 😭 means a lot to get a compliment from a legend like you. I felt I could no damage no materia hard mode bc phase 1 was so easy for me. I got really good at reading his moves after practice. Just had to figure out a way to do more damage to him before phase 2 so I can just hit him with a limit. And I figured out how! He needs to be staggered twice in phase 1. Once, and don’t do too much damage to him. Second stagger, go all out in damage lol. And of course as you know, getting 2 staggers on him no damage is not an easy feat! I’m so happy with this one man.😄

Thank you! yup! it’s super good! reason why I went with two bravers is because Rufus stagger bar goes down really quick. And since I had used a little time when he first got staggered trying to get some ATB back, infinity end prob wouldn’t hit on time. I keep it safe with just two bravers instead.

It was only bc I did 2 staggers in phase 1 , and did enough damage to him then to make phase 2 just a limit finish!!

How do you get immune to his attacks?
have to perfect parry his attacks. As for phase 2, anytime you use a limit you’re immune to damage
Should’ve been using disorder instead of triple slash to punish reload

I still can’t beat this on hard yet, I wasted almost an entire day trying, I must of died about 100 times, it’s got to be arguably the toughest fight on hard mode for the main game story. One aspect that really pisses me off with the game is that you can’t save right before Rufus, I had to shut the game off and now I’m gonna have to fight the difficult rude and elana battle again.
yeah I totally agree about the checkpoint here, would have been very nice to be able to save after Elena and Rude. Also, what part of the fight are you struggling with most? Are you able to block his attacks / find openings to use disorder ?

But then how come you’re not at max HP? 🧐
because of the fight before this with Elena and Rude. But where my health is at the start doesn’t make any difference. I took no damage this fight regardless. I could have 2HP at the start, half, or max. And the outcome is the same here, No damage.

@@thatstheway2429 yup! I uploaded a video recently of doing it no damage on hard with only using Aerith 😎 you might like that! I planned out and optimized it for hours haha.
