- "Oh Happy Day, when Jesus washed my sins away" is a 1967 Gospel-style arrangement of an 18th Century Hymn. Recorded in 1969 by the Edwin Hawkins Singers, it became a world-wide hit. Why shouldn't Jesus have a hit song all about Him?

Does this organ use phase shifting for the leslie sound.... or did hammond put in the real thing..... Im fortunate,,, Im keeping a B3 for posterity.... My goal and desire is to bring it to new condition ( wiring is old and insulation is horrifically dated ) Doc.....
the organ has a real Leslie in it, and a real Leslie tone cabinet as well. 2 Leslies, like on my B-3, for a nice full sound. Thanks...
@@mikereed3444 It certainly is rich.... that is what I noticed... I didnt know if it was because of superior recording quality (although that was noticed as well ) or if you had one or more leslies.... what is your external cabinet .... ( model ) Im really curious now.... plus.... isnt your instrument one of the few rare organs that hammond built that used and extended bass section in the keyboard range ???
hey John.... I play all the bass parts with my feet !!! (the way organ should be played,) but the manuals both go down lower in "feel" than some others. The Leslie in the organ is a RotoSonic, and the Leslie tone cabinet is a 700, with a 15" bass speaker over the spinning drum, a RotoSonic for the higher range notes, and 2 6x9 speakers for the mains and reverb. However, the reverb can be channeled directly through the spinning parts, just like I had on my B-3. The "brilliance" tab on the organ really makes the treble sound come out. Thanks for asking. This is a 1974 Hammond Grandee LSI Organ.
@@mikereed3444 Thank You.... yes... we have local "church pianists" that never use the pedal clavier.... the sounds are horrible without the largest division in the organ being used... Im glad you understood what I was talking about with the pitch depth of the keyboards..... and yes.... in 72/73/74 they did extend the bass section in the manuals.... Thank you again.... I love your music....
