17:40 Since Tropic Woods was cut for time, especially since Forgotten Land is so recent, allow me to tell you about this monstrous palm tree. This guy swaps the usual apples for giant exploding coconuts and in it’s second phase it resorts to using a fence as a shield and summoning massive roots to try and skewer you. Overall it’s a pretty fun fight and one of the Waddle Dee challenges requires you to beat it without a copy ability.
And for added bonus, the Phantom fight in the Isolated Isles post-game adds in roots you NEED to climb over to avoid the WALL of air he puffs out, and those fences he summons right out the gate and bounces Gordos around them all. DAMN Kirby transitioned gracefully in to 3D! Funny to think we ALMOST got something like this back on the Gamecube; I think the scrapped development also transitioned in to Air Ride and Morpho Knight's debut from Star Allies was originally going to be this cancelled Gamecube title, iirc, and the EX version of the mecha boss you fight in Egg Engines in Return to Dream Land was the recycled DeDeDe Mecha you were meant to fight in the cancelled Gamecube title. :D

(If it ever comes out that is) *Pumpkin King - MediEvil -Why do I feel the urge to play a Smashing Pumpkins song over the fight?
I would agree as well, especially with how it used to be an ordinary plant, maybe sacred due to how it was the centerpiece of the Chozo's Sunchamber until it was mutated by the Phazon, spreading its roots all over the Chozo Ruins while being the source of the poisonous waters.
I was also disappointed not to see a Metroid boss on this list. Flaahgra is great and Spore Spawn, while not the most complex boss, is still very memorable. Either of these would have been good to put on the list
4:05 That Starlight reference was absolutely perfect. Also, I’m a bit surprised at how few of these nature bosses can actually create duplicates of themselves. You’d think having powers centered around life would inspire these bosses to make more of themselves, but it seems to be a surprisingly rare ability for nature bosses. Great list as usual Josh, I’m definitely looking forward to Sonic month.
I was thinking of some plant bosses I know that didn't make the list but I couldn't find any until I tought of another Kirby boss that as FLOWER plastered on herself: Queen Sectonia phase 2. Whispy was the obvious choice for a Kirby boss but if we count phase 1 and phase 2 as seperate entries, Queen Sectonia merged with the Dreamstalk was a good plant based final boss. She had a lot of clever plant attack and the fact that you need to hit the little flower blooms sprouting out of her vines was clever. Also, that finale with the seed missiles and the giant laser, while being long and that beam not being flower themes, still amazing.
I do like how Exdeath's "erasing existence" motivation involves erasing himself as well since to him, the cosmic state of zero is just what he considers to be natural, and that everything else has run its course. Technically, he's not even evil; He just operates on a really alien "morality", if you can even call it that.
It must be a law of video games to have an area boss that is tied to nature in someway, shape or form. For me it’s a mixed result between Whispy Woods from most Kirby games, Naval Piranha from Yoshi’s Island, Spiked Rosered from Megaman X5, or Manhandla from Zelda.
I had a feeling that, if Omega Flowey wasn't going to make the lower end of the list, he'd probably make the honorable mentions. Also, isn't it weird that whenever people think of "nature," the first thing that comes to mind is plants? Like, what about wild animals, such as deer, bunnies, or bears? Aren't those a part of nature, too?
This seems more like a plant boss list than nature bosses. Nature encompasses more than plants, it includes animals, weather, and other destructive forces. A volcano based boss could easily be on this list due to volcanoes being a force of nature
Another month, another boss countdown. And personally I found plenty of nature bosses but few of them are good (mostly because a bunch of them are first bosses). 10. One of the more recent candidates I found out and yeah he does relish in his one-dimensional villainy. But that's what makes him charming. 9. A male whip wielder. You don't see those every day. Just ask the green scorpion. 8. Finally this game gets talked about in a countdown! It combines the first two games in a way I find charming. 7. No surprise this guy got in considering he's on the thumbnail 6. Been a while since a boss from this series made the list. The last I saw one was the puffstool from GS's poison wielders list 5. The worst of the worst bosses in this series according to GS... shows how great the bosses are. 4. Dang loopholes bringing one of the best scythe wielders into this list... 3. Nice phoenix wright bit at the start. Co-insides with Ari's first solo outing on the channel. 2. Yep pretty much the definition of the term nature boss also appreciate mentioning tropic woods from forgotten land 1. Not my list... not my list... not my list! Also looking forward to the sonic theme next month!
Josh is definitely showing his Kingdom Hearts bias in this video with how high Marluxia is. Both the Zelda and Pikmin entries have a far more engrained nature identity. Especially Quaggled Mireclops, which has an impressively intricate design for essentially being a nature Talus. Really wish he was higher on the list because a lot of entries feel very tangential. Not that that's terrible just that I'd prefer the bosses with an indirect relationship like Marluxia or even Grovyle to stay on the bottom half of the list
Grovyle is a plant with arms that he uses to grow leaves and cut you with them. He couldn't be any more of a Nature Elemental if he were growing in a pot.
Yeah, I mean Marluxia's element isn't even nature. It's death. Heck, that 'level becomes hit points' gimmick Josh described was just how Marluxia's Doom spell was made to work in that fight. The fact that the timed Doom spell from the Re:Mind data fight is initiated in the same way; with Marluxia flash stepping to Sora's side and whispering cursed words in his ear, is proof enough of that, assuming to don't just connect the dots with how it works.
yeah, josh always does this kind of thing in tops. Number 10 or 9 exists number 8 to 6 are increasingly better and then you reach a franchise he likes, he straight compares it to the bottom numbers, but places it in top 5 anyways Heck, marluxia was a horrible KH candidate anyway, there are ton of animal based heartless...or straight up animals like the cheetah!
@@devonm042690 You COULD argue somewhat that since his element is death, and the Cherry Blossoms he uses are a natural metaphor for the natural cycles of life and death in nature, he has a nature angle...and in KH Days, his element is literally labeled "Flowers", so you could say he has nature powers...though TBH, Lexaeus'd probably fit more due to his earth ability... I'm so not defending that he's high, I agree that he doesn't really have any reason to be on that list if we were to argue that his power isn't even nature, but maybe he just put him higher since his fight is more fun? You could argue he's the better fight over being the better thematic choice.
With the “erasing all of existence means them too” point, Exdeath is hardly the only example. The one that comes to my mind is Emperor Griffon from Dark Cloud 2, where the heroes point this out and he gleefully states he plans to die with the world.
SPOILERS!!!!! great to see you mentioned PMD: EoS on here because that game needs more love, and yes Grovile is the best and most tragic badass in the entire PMD series!
Time to get the to roots of who best commands Floral Power. 10: The Hammy Evil Tree! Good to see this guy. 9: A Rose of any style is still cool. 8: An angry botenist, I hope he's not last. 7: Swing Sinner swing, Cagney is here with his Floral Fury. 6: A Muddy Paracite? Dang Pikmen, you spoopy. 5: Kalle Demos, I would have gone with Diababa 4: _takes a shot_ Saw this pink hair reaper coming. 3: My Gecko Boy.... 2: Kirby's got a whole Forest of Bosses.... but if he beats Wispy Woods and nobody is around, does he make a sound? 1: Ah Comic's most ironic Botenist. Good to see my joke at eight payed off.
I'm ready/not ready to see yet another special treatment for a gym leader of Pok e mon GeN fIvE and/or gEn 8tE. But kinda expected Earth Bosses than Nature.
As someone who considers myself a lover of nature, I was really looking forward to this list. It seems all my favorite games have some sort of deadly flower-themed character in them: Flowey, Marluxia, Cagney Carnation, Yuuka Kazami, Haru Okumura, and all the flower-based Pokemon come to mind.
@@dr.crazystein9536 I've never actually played a Mario game aside from Mario Kart and Mario Party, so they don't come to mind right away when I think of "deadly flower characters in my favorite games."
@@LeahLovesNature Oh trust me. Petey Piranha is like a mutated carnivorous flytrap what everyone else could play as in even Mario sport games. Though he is Piranha Plant's finest Final Smash in Super Smash Bros Ultimate
I was thinking of Plantman.EXE when Josh mentioned him in the honourable mentions. Many people who are fond of that game know how useful his BattleChips are.
Joshscorcher, if you haven't would you do a video on joke bosses? By that I mean characters that they make a big spectacle for only for them to either be beaten with one or two hits or you don't have to do anything at all. Two examples I can think of at the top of my head are Mysterio from the Spider-Man 2 game and the Executioner from Batman Arkham Origins.
It might be interesting to see a top 10 mechanical bosses, stuff like Egil from Xenoblade Chronicles, Koloktos from Skyward Sowrd, a steel type gym leader
Other examples of Nature bosses: Alraune(Bayonetta 2): Demonic temptress, Archnemesis of Madama Butterfly, and the fiend capturing Jeanne. Glad to see Bayo beat the shit out of the flower based netherworld queen and saving her umbra witch brethren after some time traveling shenanigans! Xerneas(Pokémon X): This deer is an exclusive to the sister game to the first title in the sixth generation. All you need to do is weaken it, and then catch this ephemeral legendary! Since this beauty is a fairy Pokémon, spamming Moonlight shall lead your way to the Elite Four! Speaking of Kingdom Hearts, there's the Grim Guardianess(Kingdom Hearts III): Heartless form of Mother Gothel, based on her sins of obsessing over Rapunzel's blessing to heal those wounded around her. I prefer the so called mother turning into a tree after aging then to ash(made me get wet blankets as a kid btw). If it was for Devil May Cry getting attention on this list, then one of which such as the she-viper Echidna(DMC4), Qliphoth Roots or Nidhogg(both from DMC5)could count. Remember that you get Gilgamesh, and some new powers for Nero and V in the end, so that's neat! Viridi(Kid Icarus Uprising): Don't fuck with Cragalanche! He might be cute, but he packs a punch(no pun intended)! Petey Piranha(Super Mario Sunshine): A great starting boss in an already underrated Mario title. Feed him too much water and it's gonna hurt! Audrey II had nothing on this plant wearing a speedo!
3:43 Maybe it’s because whenever you go through them you constantly wonder what the hell happened, what is this, what was was it like before and what led to its ultimate demise. Levels that constantly make you think over them as you travel deeper and deeper into their depths really hold a special, albeit at times creepy, place in your heart, and especially in your mind.
My Honorable Mention would have to be Echidna from DMC4. A flower/snake/dragon/demon that had turned a mountain range and ruins into a forest for her little chimera seedlings also manages to put up a rather impressive fight for the two devil hunters that run into her. By firing her chimera seeds at you, trying to violently whip and impale you with her tendrils when rooted, strike you with her pedal like crown(?), or just straight up try to eat you, she shows you how much of a bitch mother nature can be.
Honorable Mentions: The Thorian (Mass Effect)- A massive psychic alien genius loci that is tens of thousands of years old and uses mind controlled thralls and plant matter zombies to defend itself. Yes Shepard, you need bigger guns. Grendel (Skies of Arcadia)- while technically an ancient magitech golem superweapon, it is nonetheless empowered by the Green Moon Crystal, from the Green Moon, which is infused with the power of natural growth. Plus, fighting this thing in your airship *The Little Jack* is hella fun. Tret Tree of Kolima Forest (Golden Sun)- this boss is literally an ENTIRE dungeon that you have to trek through before finally confronting his corrupted heart and freeing him from his torment, only to be horrified that he will die without a healing water from the far north land of Imil. Man, the Great Deku Tree set a precedence. Danika (Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber)- it's a stretch to call the Goddess of the Netherworld a nature boss, but she is literally fused to a Hell Tree with two frustrating attack spitting dekubaba-wannabe bastards during combat. This boss will require multiple battles during her Stage, if you haven't built up your army (or used the item duplication exploit *shh no judgement* ).
If this top 10 doesn’t mention the Forces of Nature from Kid Icarus Uprising or Flowey, I’m going to be mad. Edit: Flowey was at least an honorable mention. I’m satisfied.
now that I think about it, the only boss in the forces of nature to stick to the nature theme is the reset bomb factory and that's not very interesting
SPOILERS for this list below! I knew Poison Ivy would be #1 or at the very least SOMEWHERE on this list. It would be ridiculous if she wasn't. Also, COOL! Sonic month! :D
13:24 Thank you for showcasing my favourite game, hopefully I can just send this to people instead of me trying to explain why a Pokémon spin-off game is my favourite (Sky specifically). Same reason grovyle is one of my favourite pokemon.
Damn, there are a lot of possible Final Fantasy bosses you could do on here. Depending on the exact criteria, Titania from FF14 Shadowbringers might be a top pick. Grows a forest, leads the Fae, attacks with big tree lads, and uses other parts of nature like water and fire besides.
@@HenshinFanatic To be fair, I think Titania would have been a better pick, considering they have you fight THREE trees, and is altogether more nature oriented in their abilities.
Clankey woods was, traumatic to see. Whispy is such a staple of the franchise, it's almost unheard of for him to not be in a Kirby game in some form. But when he shows up in planet robobot? THE INVADERS JUST RAN HIM THROUGH THE LUMBER MILL AND NAILED THE PLANKS TO A DEATH ROBOT!
You know,I was Thinking about a Top 10 Cybernetic Bosses or a Top 10 Disney Villains Month, but a Month full of Sonic is Even Better and it could be Best Games,Worst Games, Characters,Villains,Bosses,Songs, and Soundtracks but sadly we only have 4 or 5 Shots so we better Make it Short and Make it Count.
Nature bosses, huh? Honestly, I don’t know too many candidates aside from 2. Axel the Red from Megaman X5 and the first boss from Zelda Twilight Princess.
Fear Mother Nature. She allowed us to live, but she is unforgiving. Also, changing up the style a bit by putting the name at the beginning of the entry rather than at the end. I kinda like it. 10: Interesting choice to start this list off. (Exdeath (Final Fantasy V)) 9: Robotid plants. Not something you see every day. (Axol the Red (Mega Man X5)) 8: Feed me, Seymor! ...I am sorry. (Dr. Potter (Luigi's Mansion 3)) 7: Gotta agree with that soundtrack. I mean, Sakurai decided that out of all of the songs from Cuphead, which has a great soundtrack, Floral Fury was the one that got into Smash Bros with the Cuphead costume. (Cagney Carnation (Cuphead)) 6: Of COURSE a Pikmin boss made it onto this list. (Quaggled Mireclops (Pikmin 3)) 5: I see the point with Diababa. Still, I grew up with Twilight Princess, so it's nice to see that he was at least considered. (Kalle Demos (Zelda Wind Waker)) 4: Josh is going to run out of bosses from Kingdom Hearts eventually. (Marluxia (Kingdom Hearts 2)) 3: I mean, how is it that Pokemon Mystery Dungeons hasn't been on most of your lists until now if you find it underappreciated? You're part of the problem, Josh! Also, props for avoiding spoilers. (Grovyle (Mystery Dungeon Explorers) 2: Having not played many Kirby games, I forgot this guy existed. Shame on me. (Whispy Woods (Kirby)) 1: Poison Ivy is definitely one of the best characters in Batman's rogue's gallery, especially lately since deciding that Harley was going to be an antihero instead of just Joker's sidekick. (Poison Ivy (Batman Arkham Asylum))
oh yeah Grim Guardianess (yes I looked up Gothel's boss name) would have been a great contender with all the roots she shoots out to halt your progress or the fact that she actually uses pollen in her attacks to inflict you with a boss exclusive sneezing status. (Never underestimate hay fever)
It’s awesome that you put an Amanda Show reference in this video, especially since it’s one of my favorite characters from that show, THE DANCING LOBSTERS!
Nettori from Metroid Fusion is an interesting nature boss. The context is that as Samus is heading back to her ship for an update from her CO, the power goes out in the middle of taking an elevator. Samus has to escape by traveling through the underbelly of the BSL Station's main sector. She finds that the main reactor is being choked by vines going out of control. With only auxiliary power running and none of the doors working, Samus has to take a new entrance to Sector 2, where the vines are coming from. After getting past the hardest SA-X chase in the game Samus is able to literally fall into Nettori's chamber, and sees that it's a Chozo Statue that's been overtaken in vines. Nettori is basically an upgraded Spore Spawn from Super Metroid where there is little room to stand on and you constantly have to move around to not get hit by projectiles spewed out by plants on the ceiling. You also have to be careful not to fall into the giant man eating flowers. Once Samus deals enough damage to Nettori the Chozo Statues head will fall off and shoot Plasma Beams at you. Destroying the Chozo Statue completely causes the Beam Core-X to reveal itself, allowing Samus to get the Plasma Beam after its defeat. Now with that done and over with, the vines choking the main reactor are all gone and Samus can get back to business, now armed with the weapon necessary to finally damage the SA-X.
Been subscribed for over 5 years and didn't watch for a while, but these videos are still very entertaining despite being well into my 20's now. Keep it up!
You really should have called this "Top Ten Plant Bosses." There's a hell of a lot more to nature than plants. Animals, weather, earth, fire, water, etc.
Three of those topics you listed are in their own league already. You could make an entire list of fire, water, and animal bosses specifically. "Nature" bosses may be a little unspecific, but when you think of nature, you generally think of plants first and foremost. The title still fits. "Plant bosses" also just sounds lamer.
One of the funniest things about Kalle Demos that I learned is the Forest Water trick. Like, you can skip a whole boss fight with a jar of water?! AWESOME!
I’m happy to see a Cuphead boss on here given how much I love that game and WW getting on a list at last id great since it’s my favorite Zelda game. Also I can’t believe I forgot about Poison Ivy. Trying to get through AA after she took over was a bit frustrating. Oh and for anyone confused on the dancing lobsters bit look up Judge Trudy, you’ll be in for a treat.
Honorable mentions; Touhou's Yuuka Kazami and in a sense Yuyuko Saigyouji, Bane the Druid from Blood Omen 1, The Specter of the Nature Guardian from Legacy of Kain; Defiance and even though someone already said it the Pumpkin King from MediEvil 1.
Arborick. A walking tree that chucks your fire back at you if you don't light every segment of his body on fire quick enough. The trajectory of your shots depend on your position and how charged your fire balls are. His feet are stumps attached to vine legs and boy can they stretch far!
I am so happy and excited about this list. Nature is one of my favorite elements in video games and every single entry included made me smile. 🌺 🌹 🌷 🌻 Particularly Dr. Potter, Whispy Woods and Grovyle, Heck Number 1 was a stellar pick that actually points out how big of a threat the boss really is/was
Mr. Vegetable from Galgun Double Peace is a very fun battle that also teaches the player how to use several mechanics for both the late stages and future playthroughs. The boss is invulnerable on the outside, but the Zoom function can let you both see and shoot through several objects, which lets you peek inside him. That way, you can locate both his weak point and the hostage. After you shoot the weak point enough times, you get closer to it and it starts attacking you using tentacles. You need to shoot their weak point to get rid of them and make sure you don't shoot the hostage or you'll receive a lower stage clear bonus. Hit enough tentacles and the fight moves goes back to phase 1, except there will be more than one Mr. Vegetable. Now the Zoom function also helps you locate your real target, as all the others have counterfeits inside them. In hindsight, this fight serves to show you how to obtain the God rank. You need to make sure you don't miss shots, always target the weak points of all your foes and make sure to not underestimate the importance of zooming in.
I kinda figured Viridi wouldn't see mentioned in this video because you never fight her, but Viridi's minions are cool, her plan is both reasonable and interesting, and she's hilarious. Honorable mention for sure!
And then there's Rainbow Curse, where you have a better chance catching all the shiny Pokemon in Gen 2 than finding at least one countdowner talking about it.
I loved fighting Axle The Red in X5. Edit: What's funny is during the Poison Ivy entry, the song Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N Roses plays. It's funny because every Maverick in the North American version of X5 was originally named after members of, and people who collaborated with Guns N Roses.
Actually, the Arkhamverse never really went full-force into her backstory. Isley isn't just a powerful ecoterrorist focusing on the plants. She's one of the Avatars of the Green- the world's plants as a whole. Included in this is one Alec Holland, aka Swamp Thing, as well as Jason Woodrue, the being responsible for her current state, and a dryad from another universe who calls himself The Floronic Man. But while Woodrue is hellbent on destroying mankind, Isley has been a bit more...mellow half the time. Hell, during the No Man's Land event (Where First a strain of Ebola killed of half Gotham's population, and a massive Earthquake killed half the rest, followed by a rocker pushing Gotham to be sealed off from the rest of the world aka the bridges blown), she actually helped several orphans in her garden, protecting them from the other rogues. She's less evil, more chaotic neutral.
As much as this list was about plants, Regal Ancestor Spirit from Elden Ring is also a great contender for the animal side of nature. In a world that has knights, dragons and corrupted tree serpents as bosses, here's this elk boss that you have to go out of your way to fight. No randomly stumbling upon it, you go to it. The fight itself really isn't that hard, in fact its probably one of the easiest for the level you're likely to be when you stumble across it. But the sheer atmosphere of it all makes it worth remembering. The soundtrack, the arena, the theme of life and death. Even using the various animal spirits it summons to heal itself. And it stands out a lot more than Elden Ring's other nature-themed bosses, the Erdtree Avatars.
Let it be known that Manfred von Karma being a Mystery Dungeon fan is canon to Ace Attorney lore.
Can't blame him. Those are some good spinoff rpg adventure games.

8. Finally this game gets talked about in a countdown! It combines the first two games in a way I find charming.
7. No surprise this guy got in considering he's on the thumbnail
6. Been a while since a boss from this series made the list. The last I saw one was the puffstool from GS's poison wielders list
5. The worst of the worst bosses in this series according to GS... shows how great the bosses are.
4. Dang loopholes bringing one of the best scythe wielders into this list...
3. Nice phoenix wright bit at the start. Co-insides with Ari's first solo outing on the channel.
2. Yep pretty much the definition of the term nature boss also appreciate mentioning tropic woods from forgotten land
1. Not my list... not my list... not my list!
Also looking forward to the sonic theme next month!
“AHHH NATURE! It’s all over me, GET IT OFF!”
Number 10 or 9 exists
number 8 to 6 are increasingly better
and then you reach a franchise he likes, he straight compares it to the bottom numbers, but places it in top 5 anyways
Heck, marluxia was a horrible KH candidate anyway, there are ton of animal based heartless...or straight up animals like the cheetah!
Yeah, sorry Josh, you cheated with that one.
I still remember the shock I felt when I got to THAT point in the story.
@@Triforce_of_Doom that point threw all of us onto an emotional roller coaster that did not let up
Time to get the to roots of who best commands Floral Power.
5: Kalle Demos, I would have gone with Diababa
4: _takes a shot_ Saw this pink hair reaper coming.
3: My Gecko Boy....
2: Kirby's got a whole Forest of Bosses.... but if he beats Wispy Woods and nobody is around, does he make a sound?
1: Ah Comic's most ironic Botenist. Good to see my joke at eight payed off.
Justice for Grovyle. Justice for him, I say. JUSTICE!
Couldn’t help but notice the new entry sprite. Nice, Josh!
I’m glad that Axle the Red is getting appreciation here. He was always the best Maverick in X5 and one of my favorites in the entire X series.
How come Petey Piranha and Royal Hypno Flower does not count? They seem deadly to anyone else
The Eyeclones from the Yo Kai Watch series.
Yes, I said Eyeclones. Because technically there's 4 of them. Eyeclone, Eyephoon, Torneyedo and Retinado.
I was thinking of Plantman.EXE when Josh mentioned him in the honourable mentions. Many people who are fond of that game know how useful his BattleChips are.
Marluxia is also supposed to represent death since sakura blossoms are supposed to represent the passing of living creatures into the spirit world
Poison Ivy’s most brutal attack: the burn she gave Cyborg in Injustice 2.
Master kohga breath of the wild
Waddle Dee from Kirby Super Star
Bliblob from Adventure Time: Hey Ice King Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!
seriously you don't even have to move
It might be interesting to see a top 10 mechanical bosses, stuff like Egil from Xenoblade Chronicles, Koloktos from Skyward Sowrd, a steel type gym leader
Other examples of Nature bosses:
Alraune(Bayonetta 2): Demonic temptress, Archnemesis of Madama Butterfly, and the fiend capturing Jeanne.
I can think of a few.
Flowey from Undertale, Mold-1 from Control, that flower from Cuphead, Arborik from TLOS: The Eternal Night
Oooo! Premiering on my birthday! Sweet! This is gonna be awesome!
I kinda wish the Everlasting King or Venus' Guardian were mentioned.
Yes! Bug Fables has some awesome nature fights!
Josh: “I hate puns!”
Also Josh: * MKX Segment from finishing moves list *
My Honorable Mention would have to be Echidna from DMC4. A flower/snake/dragon/demon that had turned a mountain range and ruins into a forest for her little chimera seedlings also manages to put up a rather impressive fight for the two devil hunters that run into her. By firing her chimera seeds at you, trying to violently whip and impale you with her tendrils when rooted, strike you with her pedal like crown(?), or just straight up try to eat you, she shows you how much of a bitch mother nature can be.
Honorable Mentions:
The Thorian (Mass Effect)- A massive psychic alien genius loci that is tens of thousands of years old and uses mind controlled thralls and plant matter zombies to defend itself.
Here's an idea for a countdown; Top 10 Clown Bosses in Video Games.
Ah but how much being a clown ties in with their overall presentation would have to be a factor, which would sadly put Kefka fairly low on the list
I wonder if after this where gonna get to opposite and have mechanical or machine bosses
Glad to see ExDeath here
Oh cool, this comes out on my birthday!
Was that a mother trucking Amanda Show reference
13:39 I’m literally playing Explorers of Sky right now, how did you know?
13:24 Thank you for showcasing my favourite game, hopefully I can just send this to people instead of me trying to explain why a Pokémon spin-off game is my favourite (Sky specifically). Same reason grovyle is one of my favourite pokemon.
Spin-off, not knock-off.
@@BJGvideos yeah you're right, mb
Damn, there are a lot of possible Final Fantasy bosses you could do on here. Depending on the exact criteria, Titania from FF14 Shadowbringers might be a top pick. Grows a forest, leads the Fae, attacks with big tree lads, and uses other parts of nature like water and fire besides.
You thought it was Titania, but it was I Exdeath!
@@HenshinFanatic To be fair, I think Titania would have been a better pick, considering they have you fight THREE trees, and is altogether more nature oriented in their abilities.
@@Flawless-Walrus Probably but Exdeath pulled seniority.
Welp, called one right :3
What a time to be in where exdeath; one of the previously considered worst villains is now a top 10 boss.
I’m gonna guess the kh3 tangled boss, that one was cool, or marluxia, or groundshaker
Called it
Fear Mother Nature. She allowed us to live, but she is unforgiving. Also, changing up the style a bit by putting the name at the beginning of the entry rather than at the end. I kinda like it.
10: Interesting choice to start this list off. (Exdeath (Final Fantasy V))
9: Robotid plants. Not something you see every day. (Axol the Red (Mega Man X5))
8: Feed me, Seymor! ...I am sorry. (Dr. Potter (Luigi's Mansion 3))
7: Gotta agree with that soundtrack. I mean, Sakurai decided that out of all of the songs from Cuphead, which has a great soundtrack, Floral Fury was the one that got into Smash Bros with the Cuphead costume. (Cagney Carnation (Cuphead))
6: Of COURSE a Pikmin boss made it onto this list. (Quaggled Mireclops (Pikmin 3))
5: I see the point with Diababa. Still, I grew up with Twilight Princess, so it's nice to see that he was at least considered. (Kalle Demos (Zelda Wind Waker))
4: Josh is going to run out of bosses from Kingdom Hearts eventually. (Marluxia (Kingdom Hearts 2))
3: I mean, how is it that Pokemon Mystery Dungeons hasn't been on most of your lists until now if you find it underappreciated? You're part of the problem, Josh! Also, props for avoiding spoilers. (Grovyle (Mystery Dungeon Explorers)
2: Having not played many Kirby games, I forgot this guy existed. Shame on me. (Whispy Woods (Kirby))
1: Poison Ivy is definitely one of the best characters in Batman's rogue's gallery, especially lately since deciding that Harley was going to be an antihero instead of just Joker's sidekick. (Poison Ivy (Batman Arkham Asylum))
Shoulda gone with the Mother Gothel Heartless since she straight up becomes a tree Heartless
Or Groundshaker from KH2
oh yeah Grim Guardianess (yes I looked up Gothel's boss name) would have been a great contender with all the roots she shoots out to halt your progress or the fact that she actually uses pollen in her attacks to inflict you with a boss exclusive sneezing status. (Never underestimate hay fever)
First off I love the list and the choices. Second...I love next months theme. So looking forward to it.
I am surprised Josh didn't mention how Axel the Red was also one of four bosses in X5 named for members of Guns n' Roses. Still a fun watch.
I need to see Queen Sectonia from kirby triple deluxe
I was also hoping Queen Sectonia but Whispy was the more obvious choice, sadly
One of the funniest things about Kalle Demos that I learned is the Forest Water trick.
Like, you can skip a whole boss fight with a jar of water?! AWESOME!
I’m happy to see a Cuphead boss on here given how much I love that game and WW getting on a list at last id great since it’s my favorite Zelda game. Also I can’t believe I forgot about Poison Ivy. Trying to get through AA after she took over was a bit frustrating. Oh and for anyone confused on the dancing lobsters bit look up Judge Trudy, you’ll be in for a treat.
Thank you for acknowledging how underrated the mystery dungeon games are! I feel like you're the only one who talks about them!
TAKE THAT NATURE!
Nice Mr. Crocker clip Joshscorcher. Also Mr. Crocker: FAIRY GOD PARENTS!!! Also that court dismissed bring in the dancing lobsters thing made me laugh
I like the Skylanders Spyro adventure eturnal life source boss fight
Honorable mentions; Touhou's Yuuka Kazami and in a sense Yuyuko Saigyouji, Bane the Druid from Blood Omen 1, The Specter of the Nature Guardian from Legacy of Kain; Defiance and even though someone already said it the Pumpkin King from MediEvil 1.
YOOOO!!!
Seeing Grovyle on this list was suuuch an awesome surprise!! Oh the memories alone... so many memories~
Nice as always.
so next month we're going to be seeing...what? Top Robotnik boss fights? Top non-Robotnik boss fights?
I feel like Metroid Fusion and Prime has some interesting Plant bosses.
Embrace the wordplay!!!
Pun-ish the words!!!
Arborick. A walking tree that chucks your fire back at you if you don't light every segment of his body on fire quick enough. The trajectory of your shots depend on your position and how charged your fire balls are. His feet are stumps attached to vine legs and boy can they stretch far!
Remember kids be nice to nature or wood man will break your knees
This will be Epic, I made a list similar for Plant bosses and it wasn’t easy
Gardenia and Grovyle?
Erika("The Nature-Loving Princess", especially in HGSS) and Ramos(His gym is a giant thematic win) fit your theming WAY better.
I am so happy and excited about this list. Nature is one of my favorite elements in video games and every single entry included made me smile.
🌺 🌹 🌷 🌻
Particularly Dr. Potter, Whispy Woods and Grovyle, Heck Number 1 was a stellar pick that actually points out how big of a threat the boss really is/was
It gets better with Grovyle’s story when you’re further in the game and the Special Episode In The Future Of Darkness. Won’t spoil them though.
My guy Grovyle on a list!!!! PMD EoS appreciation yes!!
"Nature always wins"- Posion Ivy.
(Also I'm betting her fight in Arkham Asylum would be here. This list is just perfect for her after all.)
And wouldn't you know it she tops the list. The queen of nature that is very deadly to all.
YEeeeeee ! I love Mystery Dungeon , Explorers . Thanks for reminding me the fight .
2:18 Gonna just throw Count Bleck from Super Paper Mario up here with Exdeath-
kirby mass attack is my comfort game so it always brings me joy when my favorite youtubers acknowledge it’s existence
And then there's Rainbow Curse, where you have a better chance catching all the shiny Pokemon in Gen 2 than finding at least one countdowner talking about it.
I like the new name cards for the choices. That little sound helps pull attention to them. 😁
My choice for Nature boss would be the final boss from Liar Princess and the Blind Prince. You're literally fighting the entire forestry now...
You need to do a light boss count down at some point. Love your work
all these years and still uploading great vids.
The Mystery Dungeon Games need more love!💕
YAY GROVYLE!!! sorry I couldn’t help it, that’s because Grovyle is my favorite Pokémon of all time.
Your love and conviction to kingdom hearts is so big and I like it
As much as this list was about plants, Regal Ancestor Spirit from Elden Ring is also a great contender for the animal side of nature.
Bruh, it feels like no one talks about Pokémon Mystery Dungeon enough outside the furry and pokemon fandoms.
