Outworld doesn't have the experience and necessary building to create much more sustain a democracy.
The voters are likely to vote the one who can promise safety and security in the wake of the inevitable political upheaval of suddenly changing to a system they are not familiar with.
@Stefano Pavone Also take into account the various powered individuals in the setting. The strongest is usually the one with enough clout for leadership.
And unlike in the comic book settings, there's no government organization doing superhuman regulations. Hence the superpower individual is always the default choice for leadership.
Earthrealm got lucky that Raiden is just guiding humanity with light hand and the realm's superpowered individuals have been taught that despite their powers, they are protectors and guardians not rulers.
In Outworld, the successor is always the one who can take the throne. Being an heir means little if you can’t take/defend the throne from your rivals, and challengers.

I can see why some Outworlders might have a problem with Kitana and Liu Kang. And no, it’s not just because he’s an Earthrealmer. It’s because he’s now the god of thunder and fire AND the keeper of time. This means some Outworlders see Kitana as a puppet ruler with Liu Kang pulling the strings, thus making Outworld a vassal state for his agenda. However, knowing the humbleness of Liu Kang I do not think he will go that far.

@@ramzisalim2592 In the original MK lore, Sindel was not evil but instead was being bewitched by Shao Kahn. But in MK11, they instead told of how Sindel believed her husband King Jerrod was weak and not strong enough to be Edenia's king or her husband and took Shao Kahn as her husband instead

From what we saw, not really. At least not in this timeline. She admitted that she had a hand in Jerrod's death, cause he was weak. In this specific timeline, she was the traitor who helped Shao Kahn kill her husband and remarried immediately after the deed was done.
I think that for Sindel, Kitana was the most important thing in the past.
When she was ressurected in the MK9, even if she was not under mind control, her daughter just betrayed Shao Kahn(the guy for whom she disposed her previous husband). And since Kitana DID NOT defeat Shao Kahn, instead joined Raiden(who was quite hated by Sindel, at least from what we saw in MK11) in deffense of Earthrealm.
So, in summary, she may have loved Kitana above all else, but it was before she learnt that Kitana betrayed Sindel's lover for Raiden, not to mention the fact that Kitana wasn't especially bloodthirsty, even when she was loyal to Shao Kahn.
Please leave Kitana'personal business alone😮 ,at Least Jade, Liu Kang, Fujin and Kung Lao really take care of her.

All I know is that Sindel didn't. She simply thinks that she did as to make her role to Shao more convincing. That's the only way to explain why she would kill herself to create the ward that protected Earthrealm in the first place. She wouldn't do that if she were truly the woman she is here.
Of course the whole 'Sindel is evil all along lololol' storyline is full of other holes which is why it's so disliked but the devs insisted on it anyway. I'd like to think that this is a way of them being clever and having Sindel convinced of a lie as a form of brainwashing but I doubt it.
That's why I think Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung are lying and editing her memories.

More accurately, "Characters (except Fujin, kind of) Interfere with Kitana's Personal Life." And a couple choice intros missed:
* One of her mirror match intros has Kitana B say she prefers Kung Lao to Liu Kang, to which Kitana A says Kung Lao isn't worthy of them, so she even hassles her own self :P
* Kotal asks Jade if it's true about Liu Kang and Kitana, and Jade says it's none of our business...when she asks Kitana the same thing to her face, so they don't just meddle with her personal life, they gossip about it when she's not there.
Jeez. Can you imagine what Outworld would be like if they had social media?

When Kitana knew the truth from the beginning, her alliance with the earth realm warriors was the only option she had. Until now she can't restore what happen to her family and her home world because they can't help her to do that other than protecting their own world. Even bonding her relation with MK champion was restricted and limited by the elder gods.
