According to the original game's voice lines, and the novels. (Yes, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. novels, not Roadside Picnic) zombification doesn't 100% erase the self. Because in they'll say things like. "Daughter, dear.. Dad will be home soon." and "It's almost spring time.. warm, like home." They'll cry for their mothers sometimes. In one of the books, the protagonist is trapped and by a stroke of luck the zombie trapped beneath the stairs he was on tells him, or rather murmurs the code necessary to open the doors for them to leave. If you can understand, it's heart wrenching stuff. They're MOSTLY gone, but not entirely. They're *trapped* in a body that's acting against it's user's will. Far from erasing. Worse than erasing. They remember, they just can't act outside of what the psychosphere dictates. 10x worse than what you've explained.
Even in Stalker games itself it's similar, if you manage to come close to zombies just sitting somewhere (not traveling) without making them notice you, and listen carefully (given that you understand Ukrainian), they don't just moan, they do mumble a lot and sometimes it's comprehensible. It's like they're permanently wasted drunk and intoxicated.
The idea of having everything you know erased from your mind to the point where your brain is practically just a hallowed out husk is beyond terrifying.
You forgot one thing you are not gone ,you can Imagine like that you are walking in a dark confusing and broken hallway you want to scream cry shout but the only thing that you are see is the memoris that are flashing by .....you are wrong that the old self is just deleted or erased its being shaterd thats scray to be an pupet of you own body
@dzikbytom6414 no, the game .if you play you can hear what they are saying like Mother its cold here or hurt hurt its hurt and a mindless being can fell anything that means there is something still inside
This is mostly correct, but the zombies actually do have small fragments of their memories left, they can be heard murmuring about memories with loved ones or whatever small thing is in their mind
3:07 actually this psy-helmet protects you from the psy radiation constantly, but if you're in the area where it's levels are gigantic then it will work for few minutes, but this helmet is enough to protect you in places where regular humans will be zombified soon. After all, strelok didn't die on territory of radar while brain scorcher was active.
Being trapped in your own mind, forced to look through your eyes like windows of a prison as some "other" entity moves your body is the explanation of "what it's like being a vampire" from iirc Buffy the Vampire Slayer show that made my way to young to be watching it self terrified of the concept for years.
not the worse fate in the game series, stalker 2 as a new enemy coming soon in one of the DLC's called "Kadaver" if you have the ultimate edition you can see it in the art book, it's a corpse filled with electronics turning the corpse into a meat drone the book says "The result of experiments geared towards a singular purpose: creating the perfect soldier. the scientists behind project x clearly had a hand in the creation of these monsters although a recent addition to the zone's bestiary they have already become the subject of many horror stories told at stalker campfires." the image in the book is also creepy.

@PlaceOfDestination I mean, yeah, it is pretty worth it. You could die or have a fatw worse than death, or you could become something like the zombies, maybe make you immune to something or resilient while still being able to function as a normal human do you think tho the negatives would also still apply of a artifact maybe worse

PSA: the novels are trash and fanfics

So... Hollow knight
the art helps a lot, the blurry white lines feels zombifying ,love the art

in stalker game there is one thing more worse than zombification. the black moving cloud that kills you instant.

love the art and the style bro 🔥, keep this up
Great video, awesome design style!
LMAO I started watching this video while playing Gamma and chilling in the Merc HQ in Dead City and Psy-Storm started at the same time. Love it.
very good video
for me i dont know which is worse:
zombification or space anomalies
Space anomalies can be escaped....altought the chances is low....zombification, however... it just...gone, your life, your mind, your memories..gone

I make them using multiple programs, but i somtimes just use images from official stalker wiki.

The artifact would probably kill you and then fuse with you or your stuff it's happened before idk about eating one tho
