Has to do with the header design, being a rear engined V8 pretty dissimilar to many typical V8's of this design (front engine) meaning you have vastly different header shapes and paths.
I'm not even into v8s (I prefer v10s and v12s) but d a m n I have never heard a better v8 than this one. Raw, Powerful, Textured with a natural aspiration. We need more cars like this.

As an adult Mum was friends with Jack and actually had couple of his street Brabhamized cars. I remember, Mum tells best, walking a Corvette on the M1 in a Brabhamized Audi 100 with hubby in passenger seat plus me, brother and sister in back, 130+ I think🤦🏻♂️ Love my Mum😁🤣
It's not so crazy, it uses a Ford 302 Windsor firing order and crank like every other Aussie V8 Supercar engine. Header design, being rear engine, are likely 180 degree for packaging making it sound that little bit more aggressive and as mentioned, somewhat flat planey (but not really).
What a great machine. From Here in Australia we're Brabham motorsport started. My late grandmother 96 when she passed , her boyfriend at the time was Jack Brabhams partner in crime during the 1930s where dirt racing was the pinnacle of motorsport. The name Kevin Gallagher was my grandmothers boyfriend at the time and Christ did my nan have some stories of the mischief they got up to. Great times and a far as I am concerned a much better time then and motorsport wouldn't be the sport it is today without the backstories and the defolopmwnt of yesteryear

Design took from Gallardo front bumper, mixed between Ford gt and ferrari front and headlights style, lambo venon rear tail lights, chiron rear style, rear side from f430, viper roof style with little fabricate, corvette front glass,.. Still nice work and good v8 sound..
I forgot to mention the rear body work after the roof is also similar to the Porsche ruf ctr3.. To learn about all that you must have a good knowledge about supercars and hybridcars models and watch a lot of them in news or magazines or any media
And the only unique design in Mac is the f1 (which is considered the fastest and most powerful n/a supercars in the world).. Btw, the saleen s7 is similar to it in a lot of ways..

GTE C7R sounds exactly like this. So engine must have US origins for sure and doesn't sound anything like lets say ferrari or mclaren for example.

Sounds like it has 180 degree headers, which make the exhaust pulses same as a flatplane crank V8.
Brabham and Ford have both said that the engine is now so bespoke, that its not really a Coyote anymore except for the block.
