I totally understand that 99.9% of your listeners are very smart young ppl but I am nether young or smart( I am 64 and worked with behavior problem kiddos for 24 years) However even this old lady has learned SO much! I still have to google terms but I am learning.. at this point Not to put $$ in crypto until I learn a lot more!!!

Stay away from crypto in general. It's one big scam.
If/when we ever find out the inner workings of Binance, I expect it to be every bit as messed up as FTX.
But both of those pale in comparison to what we'll find if Tether is ever held accountable...
One of the bits that gets me with the OF (or many cannabis shops) banking issues is that it produces a grey area. Everyone knows they can't pass KYC but everyone knows it is BS and so is morally cleared to pass them through. And it is a lot easier for someone who is a massive problem, drug deals, terrorists, etc to mask as a grey area unbankable group and get waved pass KYC than something on the up and up. Crypto in general is much the similar and so it makes groups that aim to go for that market (oh hi Moonstone Bank what are you doing here) fertile group for even more problematic groups.
Also the effects on consolidation and a radical change in basic view of anti-trust between the S&L crisis and Arthur Andersons demise (which is what, I think, set the tone for the GFC response) is what made so many cogs to big to fail and why we see so few prosecutions in white collar crimes (along with laws redefining corruption with tank sized loopholes, and taking most of the white collar division of the FBI and sending them to the anti-terrorist branch etc)

It seems that the biggest risk in crypto isn't the cryptocurrencies or tokens themselves, but the crypto platforms.
