      @@Mytoya2 I’m a true beginner…I have a Wen 3921 scroll saw. I’m trying to learn what wood works best with what blade. I want to make my grandkids name signs for their bedroom walls for Christmas. Thanks for sharing and taking your time to show your entire process instead of piecing a video together. Just order a foot petal for my saw too.

    Saw a video the other day where a magnetic advertising sign, as used on automobiles for advertising, was being used on the table top of the scroll saw. On one end of the sign, a small hole was made for zero clearance. Then the sign was rotated and mad flush on the ends & a larger hole was made for the bigger size scroll saw blades. The Seyco scroll saw company sells a ST21-B21 SEYCO'S Magnetic Table Cover , 28.5" length for around $24.00. But I believe one can get a magnetic advertising sign cheaper that will fill the area for their top cheaper else where. And these will have a slick surface on one side so the pattern will move more freely while cutting. Just a thought one might want to look into..

    Love your Idea of the little hole. thank yu so much first time I used my scroll saw last week was to cut dog treats in two and parts kept falling thru the table . I will do wood work but glad I saw your video today Thank you

      I'm excited for you! Make sure you get a saw that uses pines blades without needing to ad an attachment. Delta 20inch and DeWalt 788 are the saws I have.

    You're clearly very accomplished on the scroll saw, your cornering technique is superb. The blue painters tape is a useful trick that I've used before, but your zero clearance hack is a new (and great) one for me 👍

      I am using a #5 flying Dutchman scroll reverse. I get them from the wooden teddy bear. Google wooden teddy bear scrollsaw

    that turned out great, i see someone else uses painter tape like i do, i dont like to spray the pattern an just stick it to the wood, leaves a mess to clean up.

    Can you tell me what program you use to make & print your patterns on? I have design space but it is limited on size. BTW, this is the best put together video in a small amount of time that is so informative. I’m new to scrolling and I have watched so many videos and you have so many valuable tips.       If you are scrolling tiny letters or intricate shapes they will fall down into the hole where the blade is then onto the floor and may get lost. The hole you make in the card is so small nothing will get through it. I use flying dutchman blades. They are great blades and have been around forever so I've never felt the need to try any others.       @@JohnBfree29 I have a Delta 20-in and a DeWalt 788. They are both great saws. If you get the Wen make sure you get the one that accepts pinless blades.

      Hi Ray, I use Silhouette. There is a free download for the program. Most people use this program with a vinyl cutter but you don't need to have a cutter to use this free program. Good luck!

      You sure can! You can even use a marker in you cricut or silhouette to make the lines for you but I try to save money by printing my pattern on paper. Good Luck!!

      @@Mytoya2 I have just started scrolling. I got an old Hegner Multicut 1 for $175, but it is a single speed. I just need to figure out what blade I need to use for 6mm plywood. Those I tried are to aggressive, so I might go as low in numbers I can. I bought a sample pack of Flying Dutchman Ultra reverse blades on eBay.

      Hi there, when I first started scrolling I bought all kinds of blades. Now I mostly use #5 & #7 flying dutchman scroll reverse. The 2/0, # 3 and #4. I use others on occasion if I am cutting something thick. Are you on Instagram or Facebook?
