Thank you. New to this stuff, retired and looking to have a hobby i can maybe make a few dollars doing.
Great to see you have another video out Mytoya! I love that font and am anxious to try using the Silhouette program. You asked if others are prone to not finishing projects. I think that happens with us all. I usually finish mine but sometimes there is a big "break" while I get involved in other projects. I'm a procrastinator if I'm working on a difficult project or get to a part I don't enjoy doing. I'm mainly talking about other woodworking projects not scroll saw work though. I love scroll sawing. I hope you're finding time to work on your horse trailer renovation. Happy holidays to you and your family!
Hi there, I've only been cutting baby names between caring for my mom and traveling. I plan on doing a lot more after the new year. This is the busiest time of the year for everyone. I just want to enjoy Thanksgiving, Christmas and my husband's birthday and my birthday without rushing a project. On another note, have you downloaded Silhouette yet?
@@Mytoya2 Yes, I have downloaded Silhouette on my new computer! I'm anxious to try it and will refer back to some of your video tutorials when I get ready. You are so right about this being such a busy time of year for everyone. That's a wise choice for you to spend time enjoying the wonders of the holiday season and special events coming up in your family. Happy Birthday to you and your husband!!! You can hit the ground running after the first of the year when you won't feel as rushed. That will make your projects a lot more enjoyable. 🎄

Why is the blue there?
Hi friend, there are a few reasons why I use the blue painters tape. 1. Tape helps to lubricate the blade. It will stop you from having burn marks on your wood because of the reciprocation of your blade 2. The tape protects your wood from spray glue or whatever kind of glue you use to put your pattern down. 3. The tape makes your blade last longer. Some people use contact paper but I like the blue painters tape better. I hope that helped. 😊
Oh wow, that looks fantastic
Thank you!❤
You are the Bob Ross of scroll sawing! I love your channel.
😂😅 ❤ Thank you for your kind words!
I really enjoy your videos, great job!! GOD BLESS
Thank you! ☺️
Your granddaughter has such a beautiful name! Flying Dutchman Reverse blades are my favorite too. I use #3 and #5 for most everything. They cut great, leave clean edges top/bottom and I love the little notch on the blade that tells me which is the top. Some of the smaller blades are hard for me to tell by feel which is the top of the blade. My vision isn't what it used to be in my younger years either! I'm excited to learn the Silhouette program. Would love any tutorials on making patterns if others show an interest and will refer back to your older video's to learn too. I like the gold or white name on the background you showed but think the gold stands out more. Thanks for sharing all your tips and knowledge!

Thank you! I will try to post more often. What kind of scrollsaw do you have?
I was so happy to discover you're back making video's! Would love to see some video's on your work converting the horse trailer. I'm sure it will come in so useful for you to showcase your crafts. I can't wait to start working on Christmas gifts. It's been brutally hot here in Scottsdale though. We had some real nice below normal temps last week so I thought summer was winding down but it was 113 yesterday in Phoenix with 4 more days of very hot weather. I hope that's the end of it so I can start making sawdust again. Welcome back and I'm looking forward to seeing your upcoming video's!!!
Hey there, have you been working on anything?
I will try to post more often. 🤗
@@Mytoya2 I do all kinds of woodworking but like you, scroll saw work is my favorite! I'm getting ready to make a bunch of characters from "People & Pets" by Jean-Bernard Germe to give to staff at the AZ Humane Society. He just put out another booklet in July too that has more involved pieces but these are super easy. They don't even have any interior cuts and are really cute. I'm going to mount each on an oval base and will probably modify the characters a little. If you look on places like Etsy, they are really popular. I'm also going to do some routered signs, compound cut ornaments, wine bottle stoppers, leash holders, etc. All these will be for Christmas gifts.
@@SawdustmakerLori I didn't know there was another pattern book in July. I need to take a look at it. I'm working on Christmas gifts as well. On another note, I might be in Chandler sometime in November.
@@Mytoya2 Here's the name of the new booklet he put out in July: Easy-To-Make Wooden People & Pets with Personality: 31 Beautiful, Simple Patterns for the Scroll Saw by Jean-Bernard Germe. Oh, that will be nice if you can come in November. It surely will be cool by then!

I have a Silhouette, Business edition software is the version I use. Did you just print those on a printer? Love your work, and instruction! And what brand of scroll saw do you use? I am wanting to buy one.
Hi there, I am using a DeWalt 788 scrollsaw. Yes, I printed my pattern with a regular printer. If I have a Large design, I print one part of the pattern then move it over and print the other part of the pattern. You'll see in one of my other videos I take the patterns and hold them up to the sliding glass patio door and use it as a light box while I tape the pages together. I am not very techy. I love love love the silhouette program. I started out using coreldraw but when I found out how easy silhouette was, I stopped using coreldraw. I never upgraded. I am still using just the basic silhouette program.
