You can use them for jams and anything you want to save but one awesome way to use them is for taking along your favorite desserts. How do these cake mason jars get stored? Refrigerator, counter?

It really depends on what you use for fillings in between layers. If anything you add requires refrigeration, then it would be best to store in the fridge. I try to use ingredients that don't need refrigeration and they do well on the counter.

It can stay out in the counter for a few days no problem. That is if your house is not hot. I usually have AC in my house and stays well for days.

It has a flip-top bu you can unscrew it also.
