I have the 2D72 hantek which has a signal generator. Is there software you can add to work with an auto? Ty! I would love to learn how to test my car safely as to not destroy the scope. My probes are x100 and I'm experienced with O scopes but it's been awhile.

hi, could i use hantek 2000 series to measure automotive waveforms, besides 2d82?
Don't waste your money on the 2D82Auto model! The automotive features are just time and scale presets in the firmware, and you can hack the cheaper 2000 series models (2D72, 2C42, etc) to install the 2D82Auto firmware on them, which will give you all those same presets on the cheaper models.
How do I put the firmware in 2d72? Ive got the hantek software and the firmware files but can't see any way of putting it in? Can you help me out with this
hi daniel.so if i purchase the cheapest hantek thats 2c42 model and install the firmware for 2d72 will it be identical to that model?will it even have the AWG feature since it has the button for it?

I don't think that this was the problem, so much.
I think the real problem is the guy has no clue how to even use this device!
He talks about ALL THE AUTOMOTIVE TEST FUNCTIONS and then demonstrates something that can be done with ANY oscilloscope!
He's just showing digital pulses, that's all.
If I were to base my buying decision on THIS video, I sure wouldn't buy one.

I've heard a lot of POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE problems and how they treat customers when there is a problem.

it's clear how do you get connection with the sensor but where do you connect the other channel into?
Always to ground, I prefer to use battery negative because it is the lowest point in the system

You can even test for engine compression By just tapping into the battery, and looking for uneven voltages dropouts per cylinder stroke
