The half-closed lid is not an issue for me. After watching this video, I tried to make it "half-lock", but the only position mine has is fully locked. I bought this safe for about $90 on sale. The fingerprint reader isn't perfect but does work extremely well from my testing. I can enter two fingerprints in the time it takes me to enter a code manually. Definitely a great budget safe. If someone were to come iinto my home, Ii'm confident that I could access my firearm with very minimal delay
I used to lock my firearms with either trigger locks or slide locks so having this is possibly literally a life saver even entering numbers is far faster then fumbling with keys in case of an emergency. Only thing I recommend people do is maybe change the batteries on a 2 or 3 months cycle just to be safe. 4 AAs for piece of mind. It's not perfect but for the price it's a solid 7/10
There are actually FOUR ways to enter this gun box. A narrow six inch metal shim placed into the left side gap of the lid, then under the internal light switch will pop the door open instantly. A child could open it with minimal difficulty.
So my Awesafe opens with simple pressure from my cat walking on top. Also the fingerprint button opens no matter what I push it with. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but basically my safe opens up no matter what.
I have a question, now i bought this same safe i read the directions and i have watched both of your videos. I set up my pass code and my finger print but it says you can have multiple users with a different fingerprint and their own passcode how do you set that up for someone else??
Kay. Great question and I should have covered this in video. You should be able to add on top of eachother. So if you have your password set, just repeat the password setup process again with a new number. It should save several passwords. Try that and then try both passwords to ensure it works. Hope that helps!!!
Oh no. Id only use this safe to keep my firearm in if I'm not home. If im home my gun is loaded w one in the chamber on my night stand and ready. If u got kids, then I guess u got no choice but to keep in the safe, and that sucks
Are you still using this safe and how has it held up? And did you ever try a drop test with this safe? (without a gun in it of course... or maybe completely unloaded) Cheers... good vid bud
A year and half later almost to the day of the review. I still use it. Batteries lasted well over a year and replacing for safety purposes. I didn’t do a drop test but it’s been moved many time and has held up. I’m liking the experience. Some have commented the programming doesn’t work on theirs but mine has worked without a hiccup. No drop test since I used it often but I can consider doing that!!!
I get your comment. I think they do have to do with the keypad/finger print. So if you battery dies and it is an emergency, you will have to stumble around for the key is my point.
@@boatshoes8811 They don't. A clip simply holds rounds together so you can more easily slide them into the fixed, internal magazine of a weapon, e.g. an old bolt action rifle. Think of it as a speed loader. A magazine remains attached to the weapon so that the action can retrieve a round from it and load it into the chamber.

My two year old recently pushed mine off a 11.3” ledge exposing herself to a loaded G45. I don’t recommend this safe at all.
Thank you VERY much for that Sir 👍🏽
When you change the batteries do you have to reset the codes and fingerprints?
Be patient doing your finger print it takes a couple seconds to register finger print first time
Yeah. As I work with it more, you definitely need to be paying attention to how you place your finger pad.

You have to erase the factory settings of accepting all fingerprints.
Same as every fingerprint device. You register the same finger multiple times in different positions.
How can I open my new safe without the key.
mm I don't know how to do that, Did you resolve your problem?
Any luck? The batteries died inside of mine and I can’t find my key
Tell us you stole it without telling us you stole it lol

helpful info thanks
Thank you so much for this video!
Glad it was helpful! I'm still using mine and no complaints thus far.
Normalize not calling magazines “clips”
Yeah... I've learned a lot since this video. Thanks for the feedback.
How has this held up for you
I've had it for over a year now. Still doing great. I haven't had any issues yet! Batteries have lasted longer than I'd like to admit :)
Don't buy this safe. It's JUNK, and the manufacturer issued a recall, but does not back up their product. A total waste of money.

Haha thanks for that correction. Others have brought that up, I have since learned
Those batteries have nothing to do with operating that piston my man.
😂😂😂

Calling magazines “clips.”
Blind leading the blind.
they mean the same thing. No need to act like you are a professional
Haha thanks for the feedback. I should probably straighten up my terminology.

I was able to open one by dropping it on the floor
Wow! I didn’t think it was that bad, hopefully that isn’t repeatable… good to know!
@@GearRules i wouldn't want to do it with a loaded gun in it.
Extra magazine! Not clip 🤦🏼♂️
Haha you aren't the first to point me out on this. My mistake
@@GearRules being a veteran and a firearms enthusiast I am very keen on proper terminology
