I liked Chicago a lot back then but was never into them as much as I was into some other bands. I didn’t know the individuals in the band nor their names. It was much later, in the late 1990’s/early 2000s, when I became a big fan of the then solo vocalist Peter “Mr. Romance” Cetera, that I discovered that he’d been a primary voice in the band Chicago. Now, in 2021, at age 62, I find that the older I get the more I appreciate the classic songs of the 1970’s Chicago band and am enjoying their music more than I ever did. Chicago in their heyday produced some worldclass TIMELESS music!
+NikkkitoNippongo That's why the band brought him on board in 12/1967 after they had formed ten months earlier, as well as he was an outstanding bassist and Lamm had been providing the bass with pedals.
They were the best of the best back in the 70's. So many great songs, especially with Terry and Peter as lead vocalists. The 70's had the very best music of all time. Nothing comes close to it today.
They had three lead vocalists: Terry, Peter, and Robert Lamm (ex: Lamm sang lead on Saturday In The Park). Show me any other band with three distinct lead vocalists. The original inception of Chicago was one of the greatest rock bands to ever exist.
Yes this was Colorado, in the mountains above Boulder. I was in the audience for this taping of a TV special Thanks for bringing back the great memories.

+music and me What's more amazing is that it was recorded over forty years ago and the band, well at least four of them, are still performing live shows, although significantly fewer than they did during this period of time.
Their voices all blend together so perfectly and with the instruments. There will never be another band like the original Chicago. On a side note, I bet the ladies were going nuts for Peter Cetera back then, but they are all good-looking guys.
They all were musical geniuses! This video is amazing. All of it. Especially the shot from the stage where they show Terry and Peter from behind. Wow. Terry was a doll. I just had to say that. Too bad he is gone-and what a voice and guitar playing.
Carol Wright - Terry Kath is my ultimate favorite guitarist of all time.... Still! The guy was the heart and soul of Chicago. His singing was amazing, too! The man was truly a gifted artist. He was planning on doing a solo album, and see what happened, during his untimely accidental death. He wasn't trying to kill himself. It was truly a tragic accident.
@@joeyricci3796 I like what Jimi Hendrix had to say about him. He said he was the best guitar player he’s ever seen there was no way he could keep up with him and this was a direct quote from Jimi Hendrix.

Just amazing how well they played together. Cetera is fantastic here, but I suspect this is primarily a Pankow composition. Also, I absolutely love how this video has been on TH-cam for ever and it remains in discussion till now. Some Music is unforgettable and timeless!!
