- Blackpools cheapest hotel, but was it really any good for the price??
( THE SEAVIEW HOTEL ), but did I stay in this cheap hotel room that I found online.
I challenged myself to find the cheapest hotel or b&b room online at booking.com to spend 1 night in Blackpool 2 days before Christmas. Booking.com had a cheap hotel room available in Blackpool for £13.50 but booking.com only charged me £10 for the low-budget hotel room at THE SEAVIEW HOTEL
The Seaview Hotel was not too bad for an overnight stay in Blackpool. The room was worth the money even a little bit more! BUT the smell of nicotine and wet dogs was not very pleasant.

I take it you didn’t see that there’s a Premier Inn not that far from Blackpool Football Club and a Travelodge just opposite the football ground 😂 I certainly wouldn’t stay in the Seaview Hotel, even for a tenner. Even the old rundown County Hotel in London not far from Euston station wasn’t that bad tbh. But definitely prefer the Premier Inn.
To someone homeless and on the streets it would be like the hilton . .1 night a week in this place a week could keep them alive and kicking

I must admit I was impressed for a tenner a night....We live on a very tight budget and Id stay there if I wanted a break away ..we havent had a holiday for a very long time...
I stayed at this hotel a few years ago when my young family and I didn't have a lot of money. I think I paid £30 for two nights then, but that was for four of us. It was one room with a double bed, a bunk bed, and a shower/bathroom. The place wasn't the best, but I've seen worse. The window frame had holes in it, the window wouldn't close properly, and to make it worse, there was music playing most of the night, although my kids slept right through it. Yes, the room were a little ropey, but it was just a place to lay our heads at night after a fun-packed day, so we hardly spent any time there except when we were going to bed. I must say, though, if it weren't for places like this, we would never have been able to afford to get away. So although it's not a 5*hotel, it enabled us to get away as a family. Luckily, I'm financially secure these days, so I don't need to stay in places like this, but that said, I wouldn't rule it out either if it meant I had more money to spend on having fun. I like your reviews, though, buddy. Keep it up!

I must say apart from the smell and paint job its not the best but A room that big with double bed sink shower kettle tea/coffee for a tenner is preety good 😊

The problem when rooms are so cheap they can't afford to do any real maintenance and the cleaner is expected to do the room as quick as possible to save money hence not being cleaned properly because they just don't have enough time.

It also happens with expensive Rooms, it seems nobody has any pride in their work anymore and hygiene/cleaning standards aren’t the same as years ago and people can’t be bothered.
I use Hotels regularly through work and have noticed the decline in standards over the years, nothing to do with saving money etc. People’s standards have changed, just look at the way some people live and neglect any form of housework, once upon a time folks were house proud, scrubbed their outside step & path everyday, always cleaning the home even though most were poor and on meagre wages, if they were dirty with their homes then they’d be the main gossip on the Street and shamed.
People have become lazy with a me, me me attitude.
What the hell do you expect for £13.00. For that price it’s fine.

Suppose if she had 5 rooms that's 50 a night, but yeah over a week if it's fully booked each night, doubtful they'd be raking it in, hence the sorry state of the place

I have now got a uv light . And check my flat to make sure it's clean . All you need is bleach gloves and a cloth . I also recommend nuterdol blue from savers to nuterlise nasty smells such as dog and nicotine. And fabrics for curtains etc . Love the videos .😊
We've just started watching your vlogs as we love Blackpool. We always stay south shore, staying either big blue hotel or Hampton by Hilton. In the 80s always used to stay more central like Albert rd. Like you say the back streets are rough!! But last year we stayed in the Colwyn hotel south shore, we have stayed there in the past, it was lovely very clean. But last year it was extremely run down was a understatement on entering the hotel the owner was sitting on the wall clearly drunk. Walking upstairs to our room the toilet downstairs smelt like s**t on entering our room it was a disgrace tape very dirty. One look we were out the door!!. I'm telling you this so you could book in there, I've watched and enjoyed them, but none of them have been as bad as the Colwyn. Love you channel Ian and Sarah from Derby 🖤🤍🐏
I've seen less pipework on a Tuba! I've stayed in worse places in B'pool. In one, we had to use a folded up sanitary pad to stop the window from falling out and a fire alarm at 4am. Standing in the street bare arsed! St Chads was so bad that we had to abandon ship.

Hi Dan great video, I think the black dot in the bed are bed bugs as some of them moved when you disturbed them. They also give of an unpleasant smell. Keep on doing these videos as I love them.

I stayed here a few weeks ago in the same exact room actually and recorded a tiktok. I can agree that the smell was off putting but I got used to it and managed to sleep there 🙂 nevertheless great video keep it up!

OMG that's is how I felt when I arrived at the Silversands Hotel it was pure stinking, it was just for two nights had to clean the room with detol wipes and febreeze to get rid of the smell.
I think it was on the walls as well

For what it cost it is really not that bad. I think pointing out everything that's a bit rubbish like old pipework and a badly placed mirror is probably not the way to go. I felt a bit sorry for the owner on this

This is a good channel, a hotel guide. Did you end up sleeping in that nicotine and dog smelling room? It looked awful all round!

Your video reminded me of another UK based youtube one where they'd try to find the worst hotels. Sadly they fizzled out after maybe 6 videos or so. And yes, one of them was in Blackpool and it was hilarious.
The room doesn't look too bad for the price. That being said I'd be scared of bed bugs lol.
I won't be stopping any time soon we have more then just Blackpool to visit

I've seen the same place (different room) on another channel and they had all the same complaints. The room was set out in the same fashion with the TV facing away from the bed which also had plugs instead of a headboard.
Went to a Premier Inn once and as soon as we went in the room it stank like there was something dead in there. They came and smelt it and agreed and luckily they gave us a better room. Must have been a drain problem
I think the managers knew its bad, but they just hope we say nothing
Fab video I live in Blackpool and pass this place on rare times to be honest 10 pounds is cheap good idea to bring some flower house spray freshens up the room at that price we don't really get a say in 1st class things x

Once stopped at a place in Aberdeen that stank so bad I thought I’ll have to open window, went to window and it was missing, just an open gap 😂 🤷🏻♂️

Been in a place almost as bad it's part of a truck stop that has rooms this place was near High Wycombe. The window was broken and had been forced back in somehow - holding on by the latches. Window fell out on to the bushes outside like something out of a Benny Hill! Managed to get in back in but with a massive gap around the edge - very noisy when the truckers started up early next morning. Decent lot the truckers there shame they have to stay in such a squalid place guess their work chooses it.
Stayed in one on Lonsdale paid £35 on a last min. Bed was stained wall paper hanging off 1 cup 1 kettle No spoon coffee sachets window wouldn’t close Good job I went in my camper van

Try the Whitehouse in Llandudno, now that IS an eye opener!!! I obviously can't smell what you are smelling. You have to experience it to see what I mean. I would love to know what you think. That room you are reviewing might be worse but you may think they are both as bad as each other - may be a good comparison.

Back in 2013 I worked in Blackpool and needed some cheap accomodation to keep costs down. I saw some of the accomodation in Blackpool but decided to stay in St Annes as it is much nicer. I think alot of these B&B's are actually halfway houses with semi permanent guests, I even saw a few in the guest house I used at St Annes. Its quite sad that people are staying in these rooms longer term, and the situation is probably worse 10 years on.

In 95 a 42 year old resident of a 7 quid a night hotel try’s to tell me engineering was a dead job soon 9 years later I was made redundant I wonder how he ended up on skid row think about him regularly nowadays aged myself 57 in a fortnight a lot of Blackpool is semi permanent in Blackpool nowadays it’s no longer 1977
For sure, but with the conversion to U.S. $ that's 23.00/night! You CANNOT get a bunk bed in an 8 person room in a hostel for that in Toronto! I would rent there month by month if I were there living, for sure! Rents are crazy all over the Planet right now, and that is dirt cheap and with the work available in Blackpool in Winter, (lol), that would be affordable on Welfare.
Shame that you finally found a bed that Seaman Stains hadn't slept in, but the room smelled like a demon was trying to manifest! I live close to Blackpool and love watching you visit there. I hope your other place was fresh, clean and comfortable. x

I used to be a smoker and you never really noticed the smell until I stopped 3 years ago. If I walk passed someone who is smoking now I start coughing. I don't know I didn't stop sooner.

That En suite was a case of somebody was down the pub who knew somebody who who knew somebody else who could knock you up a bathroom for a case of beer..prob not cleaned because the cleaners prob though the auld boiler was in there..

I don’t blame you for leaving at all! My hubby and I booked into stay at a hotel in wales, was a beautiful place outside but as soon as we got to our room the smell of sewers and nicotine was absolutely disgusting and we literally couldn’t breathe without wanting to throw up, after spending ages thinking about what we should do we decided to ask for a refund and we knew it would mean sleeping in the car that night as it was too late to book anywhere else but that was a much better option. When we asked for a refund they didn’t even question it as I think they knew full well about the stench🤢

The last time I stayed in Blackpool was over 30 years ago... I went for the cheapest digs possible and got a shit hole with grubby nylon sheets, no en-suite and a dirty protest up the wall for £16 a night. I'd be chuffed to bits with this for a tenner. Happy days...and a few quid saved for the pub.
Another cracking video Mate. I wouldn't have stayed either as I can't stand the smell of nicotine or stale cigarette smoke. It has made me ill in the past. One thing that strikes me as you say the channel is growing rapidly, is that are not frightened of being recognised by a hotel manager and being refused entry to the place. Ive subscribed. I think your hilarious. I do think this is a brilliant price for maybe a young couple or single person having a night out and just need a bed for the night its more than enough, getting a brew aswell and a shower, think its acceptable for that price, and even homeless person.
But it would be so cheap to do some repairs that you pointed out its crazy how they dont make it better regardless of price.

A lot better than I expected for £13. Think you were a little harsh here. Honestly, a lot of people would be glad of that for that price, especially with the weather outside.
I've just stayed in a hotel in Barnetsby due to work and it reeked of wet dog and damp. It's not nice having to put up with it for the week!!!

Comes summer time you'd be lucky to get a couple of drinks at the bar there for the cost.
Apart from the smell this looks quite nice and cosy. A bit of a clean and ignoring the little snaggings it looks alright.

For the price paid its not alot id probablay just pop to the shop for some cleaning supplies to give the bathroom a once over, ive seen places charge £100+ for a room where your sharing a bathroom with other people which is a big no no for me regardless of how nice a room looks. Only thing that bothers me with this room is the location of the tv it would be awkward to watch when lying in bed.

2 a sleeping bag because of number 1

We were traveling and very tired. There was only room in the place we stopped in waS a smoking room I thought how bad could it be. Didn't bother my husband, too bad, but I was up all night and in the morning i felt so sick.
People who smoke don't understand how bad the smell is when its been building up over time .
