- You’ve landed at the 7 Day Cereal Challenge hub.
Are you crazy enough to only cereal and milk for a week?
Here is all you need to know about the Cereal Challenge:
What: Only eat cereal and milk for 7 days straight (21 straight meals and unlimited snacking sessions)
When: This first challenge occurred on January 23rd - January 30th 2023
Why: Test the body and mind’s ability to survive on just cereal and milk. I always answered “cereal” when asked what food I would choose if I was on a deserted island and could only choose. Lucky Charms was often brand chosen if pressed for more details. The further “why” is also - Can I eat only cereal and milk and still like it? Time will tell.
How: I am operating this challenge with the rules recorded below. I’ve roped out my schedule to have this challenge during a week that didn’t involve traveling, important meals (anniversaries, birthdays, etc), and communicated to those I will associate with that I have committed to this challenge. This is all necessary to not fall into a spot where you compromise the challenge.
Cereal Challenge Rules:
1. Cereal* and Milk* for 7 days (21 straight meals)
2. Cereal is defined by boxed or bagged corn, rice, or wheat cereal. This does not include granola, mueslis, or other variations. Protein or other vitamin enriched cereals are acceptable.
3. Milk is defined as dairy from a cow. This excludes oatmilk, almond milk, soy milk, or other variations. Chocolate, protein or other enriched milks are acceptable as long as they are considered true dairy products. Yogurts are not accepted.
4. No limit on cereal within the 7 days. The challenger is free to eat more meals than 21 if necessary. Unlimited bowls of cereal and milk accepted. This is not a diet to reduce consumption.
5. Snack sessions must consist of cereal and milk. No other foods should be introduced during snack sessions.
6. No additives. No adding fruit, protein powder, meats, veggies, or other items not found within the box or bag of cereal.
7. Mixing cereals and milks is acceptable as long as it does not involve introducing foreign foods.
8. Does not need to be eaten with a bowl and spoon. For example, cereal can be consumed by the handful and milk can be consumed from the glass, carton, or other drinking vessel.
9. Any flavor or brand of cereal is possible at each meal time. It is not necessary to eat a different type of cereal for each meal or snack session.
10. The required metrics that will tracked include: volume of cereal, volume of milk, daily weight amount (taken in the morning without clothes), glucose levels (before breakfast, before lunch, and before bed).

What if i told you i lived 7 days straight on nothing but cereal and milk?
Do you think you could survive 7 days on nothing but cereal and milk? Well, I’m alive to tell the tale. I know some dude (Sam Reid) survived on Taco Bell but the menu and nutrient variety is so much more than the dairy and carbs I signed up for.
What does preparing for 7 days of cereal look like?
You have to stock up your inventory and start leaving boxes in all types of places because 21 straight meals AND any snacking that takes place needs to be cereal and milk. [desk drawer and backpack]
My weight slightly dropped over the week but then rose as I neared the end. Nothing showed any major distress because I was eating as much as I could to stay full. The biggest dip I saw was in overall energy.
My glucose levels never really spiked either as I was monitoring before and after meals - of course at the same time each day. Meaning, my body was adjusting to what I was throwing at it.
Before I ended this cereal journey, I solicited some questions that many of you were probably wanting to know as I was live instagramming my updates along the way. Watch the video to see the questions answered.
How fun man. You are living my foodie dream in a much healthier body. I could have done this for a few days but the comfort of not having warm comfort food would have been tough. I can understand the challenge of watching your family have a Pot Roast, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy Sunday dinner and feeling left out. Love these video's. So much fun.
Next challenge…… Pizza and soda only for a whole a month ha ha
I would definitely need to find out a good way to do a breakfast pizza. haha
Curious how were your BM eating mostly cereal?
@@Constantlyevolvingagain truthfully, they didn’t change much. Granted, I eat a lot of carbs and dairy anyway but it was tough just doing only cereal
@ thank you! Did your cereal have a lot of fiber?
@@Constantlyevolvingagain I did mix it up with Raisin Bran and other with high fiber
Was it because the sugary cereals made you crash, or was it because of eating cereal in general.
Just so many carbs of the sugar and grains.
How much weight did you lose?
@@tatiana9723 I think it was just under 3 lbs.
Diabetes
Surprisingly, my body adjusted well. I took 23 glucose tests over the 7 days to monitor my blood sugar. For sure not something to do long term.
