  • From the No.2 pick in the 2008 WNBA draft to the leagues all-time leading rebounder and arguably the greatest center of all-time. “You love to play with her and hate to play against her.” She is one of the league's most beloved players.
Shockingly enough, the WNBA was never a dream for Sylvia, but it quickly became a reality as she made her presence felt in the paint throughout her fourteen-year career. Instead, her "goal is always how can I deflect that and make other people feel good," this gives you some insight into the type of person Sylvia Fowles is.
In February 2022, Sylvia Fowles announced she planned to retire after her final season with the Minnesota Lynx. Fowles is an avid knitter, bike rider, mortician in training, and has plans to become a mother. In association with Minnesota Lynx and HighlightHer, this is “Syl’s Final Ride.” A glimpse into the legend’s last season, and the legacy she has left behind.

This was a beautiful video, thank you. I am so fortunate to have had so many chances to see this legend play from the stands, and I will treasure those memories forever while I continue to root for Syl in her new life beyond the court. What a singularly incredible human being.
