    I found my 2002 LS with 70000 miles in outstanding condition through Cargurus 4 years ago. I am 68 years young and this car is my heart and sole. Love to take my wife and I on long drives in sunny Florida. I know it's been 3 years, hope you still have it and repaired the dent. Lol😂

    That's the best looking generation of the Miata in my opinion. Specially the Mazdaspeed!

    Great video!!! I’m 47 and have owned 1990 Red, 1994 Red, 1996 Black, 1997 STO like yours, 2004 Mazdaspeed Red, 2006 NC grey, 2017 ND grey, 2023 ND Club sport charcoal and last month I bought a 2017 Fiat 124 spider Abarth Red. The 124 reminds me very much of my Mazdaspeed because of the turbo. I should have never sold that Mazdaspeed!!! It didn’t have A/C and wasn’t fun to drive on hot summer days.

    Definitely your best video yet, Chris. Very personable. When you mentioned, the Miata didn't come with CC from the factory, it reminded me of the Mitsubishi Evolution I got to order back in '03. Glad you still have the Miata, what ever you do, DO NOT get rid of it. Pass it on to one of your kids when you cannot drive her any longer. That way, you maintain that spirit alive, while keeping it in the family.

    I have the same car in the same spec which I found using the Car Gurus website. Has and upgraded FM intake, intercooler, and exhaust setup. I added some gauges. Love this little go cart. Makes enough power to fully enjoy all it has to give. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive it!

      Great point. You can use this car's maximum performance on public roads without jeopardizing yourself or others. Can't say that about most modern performance cars.

    Timely indeed. I am looking at 2020 Miata
    and dealerships are shrinking to find "the one." Appreciate your enthusiam as love of the car. I have a Triumph MkIII GT6 197, USA sloopback that I can't part with. Beauty. That was when Triumps could'nt reduce engine weight to adapt to emissions requirements and began to fall behind MGs at the race tracks. Cast iron engine. Unbelieveable
    torque.

    I own the identical car. I bought it used with 70k miles and I have 170+k miles on it today. I use it as my everyday drive except in Winter, and have done two long road trips. To say I love this car is an understatement.
    I replaced the 17" wheels with 15" rims because I don't like rubberband tires. I've replaced the radiator and the turbo inter cooler; the latter because it was jammed with bugs. I also replaced the OEM muffler with a gurgler from Goodwin racing.
    This car was made for New England's twisty back roads where it shines the brightest.
    'Tis a small thing, I know, but a Torsen differential is not an LSD; limited slip differential. There is no slip, limited or otherwise. There are no clutches.
    Zoom, zoom!

    • @ralphaverill2001
      @ralphaverill2001 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DeeEditor1 How much did I pay?
      Just under $10k.
      I lost the car. A jerk in a dump truck totaled it😿. I didn’t get much for it because of the high mileage.
      I bought a sweet little lo mileage (50k) ‘97 NA, but I still mourn for my ‘04 ‘speed.

    • @DeeEditor1
      @DeeEditor1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ralphaverill2001 I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I hope the NA is treating you well. I asked because there is a lava orange msm for sale in my area but the guy wants 11k. It has about 65k miles, hardtop, FM little enchilada kit and many more mods. Was thinking about buying it. I have a 95 na with about 40k miles, how much different is it in comparison to the MSM?

    • @ralphaverill2001
      @ralphaverill2001 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DeeEditor1 The MSM is heavier. I noticed the difference immediately. However, the MSM acceleration is more spirited thanks to the turbo, and the Torsen differential really helps accelerating out of corners. I miss the Torsen more than the turbo. Also, the Torsen is helpful on dirt roads and I imagine also in the snow. You have real, full-time two wheel, rear wheel drive.
      If I could, I would jump at the chance to get another MSM.

    My 2012 GTI was my favorite car. It’s the only car that inspired me to wake up early on the weekends to drive. Yokohama S Drives are my favorite tires that I put on a 2008 Scion XB. They really helped my bloated toaster’s ride and handling.

    • @ChristianWardlaw
      @ChristianWardlaw 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is exactly my thinking. When it sits in the garage undriven for an extended period of time, I wonder why I have it, especially when paying for the plates, smog certificate, insurance, and maintenance. And then I drive it again and remind myself why I should never sell it.

  • @mrmohr2

    I love my Mazdaspeed Miata as well. It is hard to think of selling it. I put on a manual boost controller and the FM air filter, so I am closer to 200HP. Very nice amount of power for a Miata. And the NB is one of my favorites. I really like the NA too, except for the door handles, especially in the winter! I have 5 Miatas. 1990 DIY Turbo charged, (14psi probably stronger than the MSM, but not as nice). 1997 base model, 2000 LS, 2000 SE, 2004 MSM!
    One other thing that the MSM has is an under body frame brace that adds stiffness to the chassis.

Im 24 haha so the car is almost as old as me... but I love Miata's and I love the MSM. I got it from an awesome owner in San Diego last year! My first car was a Miata, was an 06 limited edition. • @pete5534

    85% of an ND MX-5? How'd you quantify that estimation?
    The Mazdaspeed MX-5 is a fantastic and fun 2nd car. The build quality, fun quotient, low maintenance cost, and resale value (if you ever want to sell) are peerless.
    Keeping one maintained, clean, and straight will see it's value hover around $10k for the foreseeable future.
    Bonus points for the lack of dash mounted tech-tablet.

      Hi Carl. Believe it or not, I didn't use a mic. This was shot on an iPhone XS, mounted to a tripod. Directly behind the tripod is the corner of the driveway where the garage meets the house, so I can only assume you're hearing a bit of an echo. My only tools were the tripod, the phone, and some help from my kids.

    • @ChristianWardlaw
      @ChristianWardlaw 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rudy, I have considered that. No doubt, a Boxster is a superior performance car. But I prefer the seating position in the Miata (high, with greater exposure to the elements while driving), and in the 16 years I've owned mine, it has cost a ridiculously small amount of money in repairs. Plus, here in L.A., Boxsters are a dime a dozen. I rarely, if ever, see a Mazdaspeed on the road.
