    Bob 's personal ethics, philosophy and great compassion for human beings comes through watching his videos. Serving People and Doing Good. He reminds me of the Free University Ethics Classes at University of New Mexico in the late 60's. This movement is my community for my present and future years until I carry on beyond my slowly emerging Road Life. My decades in working with non profits since I was a kid though now 70 years of age. I was in the travel industry, real estate and legal industries. I just want to get on the road again even part time from Tucson which I am not prepared to leave my now coordinated necessary medical services. You guys all rock! Hope I get to volunteer some business consulting services to you now and in the future.

    Thank you Bob for your discussion on Coronavirus and how it may affect caravans, etc. For once in my life being an introvert has become a bit of an advantage. In that I don't mind being alone in fact it is a stretch for me to socialize.
    Thank you again for all you do to help others.

    Hey. You just answered my need for help installing solar with solar mike at slab city. It might be a couple months till I make it that way, but oh well. I can make it that long with no fridge or power. I only drive about 3 to 4 hours a day, and like to set up for 2 weeks at a time or longer if allowed. Again love your vids, can't wait to be able to be of help to folks like you do. That's what I believe life is all about, helping others. Peace✌

    String cheese wrapped in a piece of kale or lettuce. It's fast and easy, and you can eat it while driving. The cheese masks the bitterness of the kale.

    I put the desired amount of coffee in a reg coffee filter (maybe 100 for a dollar or so) use a bread twist tie to close it and throw it in a pan of hot water. Adjust how long you let it soak or adjust amount of coffee for desired strength.

    For a super healthy meal for those with heart disease or high blood pressure. Yall should buy a small blender like a magic bullet,. I recommend buying canned beets and frozen blueberries or bananas etc and making a beet smoothie everyday. Your blood pressure will drop within 5 minutes or less and you can feel the effect immediately. Especially any of you who deal with a uncontrollable heart I highly recommend a beet smoothie. It will open of your airways and increase the amount of oxygen within your blood cells. Its a natural medicine for those with respiratory issues.

    • @paladinhansen137
      @paladinhansen137 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@anninriverside755 Smoothies will help in the process of breaking down the food which will make it easier to digest and absorb for your intestines and allow more nutrients to be absorbed in to your body. The blueberries and bananas I mentioned is because those three go really well together in a smoothie and make it palatable for 99% percent of people because you and I know that most people don't like eating or drinking just beets or beet juice alone. Two cups of blueberries a day have also been found to decrease rates of Alzheimer's Disease in elderly patients compared to those who don't and promote brain function. So, I Typically add that in as well as a can of beets and a banana to make it really sweet and have proper texture. You can also add avocado, local honey, and chia or hemp seeds for additional fats and proteins. Its my personal drink I drink about every other day and its really helped me so im just speaking from my own truth and may not be absolute for others as some might. Also frozen berries and banana are picked right off the farm and are the freshest you can get. A lot of van people have a small freezer and can put a 5lb bag of blueberries and bananas in their little freezers whereas the canned beets can just stay in a compartment and last for years.

      Certainly I can recommend a magic bullet if you have space. I've had mine for approx 15yrs - still going strong and well used. Good for smoothies, soups and dips and v easy clean.
      Not sure I'd use in a van tho

    Eating healthy on the road is important, especially when I undergone surgery on my heart in 2020. I stop at grocery store several times a week for meat, vegetables and fruit. I would rather eat healthy and since I am mobile and have plenty of time to shop frequently.

    I think that even if you have a fridge it's good to find out what things can really be kept out and for how long (I had a flatmate once who thought she had to store almost the entire pantry in the fridge: apples, peanut butter, jam, you name it, she put it in there) in order to maximise your cold space

    Beef and real cheese all do well for a reasonable amount of time out of cold. Butter can stay out of the fridge for a long time, it’ll be soft, but that makes it easier to spread!
    I’ve taped up reflectix into a box to use as a cooler while backpacking. That would do well for a couple of days.

      here is a few...break into florets..put in a bowl..pour avocado oil or olive oil over it...1, tbl spoons...salt pepper, mix well. Roast in oven. Or, saute in frying pan. - 2)break into florets...dump in boiling water, boil until bright green 1, 2 min. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese. 3) break into florets...boil 3 min...drain well, in a pot add 3 tbl butter, 2 large table flour, make a paste, add 1 cup milk or 1/2 and 1/2..stir until mixed and thick. Add 1 1/2cups of cheese, pour sauce over broc, sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese over dish, eat if you dont have an oven, or bake till bubbly and brown on top. You can add chicken to this last dish as well, will last you a few days!

    A tidbit of experience. Banquet boxed chicken after cooked will last 5days at room temperature. Cooked burgers 3 days. Mayo one month. Cheese 2 weeks. Butter a month. This is room temp about 75°. My mom used to keep bacon grease on the window sill sitting in a jar for months.

    • @susie9893
      @susie9893 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure about the chicken. That rings my alarm bells hugely.
      But I agree that cheese can last really well - especially if wrapped with paper then linen (and if mould grows you just cut it off).
      Natural yoghurt also lasts quite well outa fridge provided it's not TOO hot.
      Even eggs can last at least a week usually (and there's the float test so you can check).
      Rather than using butter, ghee will last at least 6mths outa fridge I believe (that was whole idea of making it)
      Then there's olives, any dried fruit, nuts
      I also keep kale and celery fresh for at least a week, usually, unless it's REALLY hot, by standing in small amount water. Also works well for most herbs

    So, wait a second. Did I hear you say that the position you are hiring for is part-time? Yet, you need the person to be available an hour in the morning, an hour at mid-day, and an hour before bed? You realize that with that schedule their entire day is focused on a "part-time" job. Really, it sounds like full-time to me because the person is tied up all day. Respectfully submitted.

      They want someone basically retired, or like stay at home parent / mom, and has minimal commitments. Or while their kid is playing soccer, they can get online, and do the work for an hour. There's actually alot of people that can meet the flexible hours. The challenge is the requirements for a windows laptop, having the office software, and internet access. Other van travelers seem to end up off grid, no internet at times. Seems like a van lifer might find it harder to have the internet access daily.

    Well Bob another good video of info.. Thanks and take care.. don't let your guard down 6 ft away from humans. and no shaking hands. Get your daily dose of garlic.. Ok suggestion when we traveled we also stop at wallmart and bought organic vergetable juice that is jars.. it was very tasty and got our veggies that way.. A good way to juice for sure.
