@@JoshPostVlogs ...love your video's...but...if you are going to fish you should eat your catch...your comment, "not wanting to mess with the cleaning" , surprized me. Stay safe!
@@hrmacdonald4471 What about catch and release fishing? Plus, at the time I wasn’t sure if barracuda were safe to eat. I learned later that smaller ones (like the ones I caught) are safe.
@@JoshPostVlogs Catch & release fishing is considered a sport...catching a fish on a trolling line off the stern of a sailboat seems more for, catch & eat. I didn't know if barracuda were edible either until I read this post. We both learned something :)
You'll catch more fish if you use a less conspicuous leader. You're fishing in really clear water. The fish can easily see the leader material. If you're worried about getting cut off by toothy critters, you could use about six inches of light wire leader. Otherwise, I'd just use a few feet of 100lb mono leader.
@@JoshPostVlogs also you need to be in deeper water to have a chance at pelagic. at that depth, you really are only going to get barracuda. I would start at 100 ft plus. Good luck and I enjoy watching the videos.

Amazing water!! Great message from Dr. Pierce and the end of the video👌🏽. Your channel is one that had shown me that solo sailing can be done and encouraged me to take lessons as well. Got the certifications a couple months ago...now to try and find a worthy boat 😎
@@JoshPostVlogs Thank you Josh! Your how to sail video was great and you presented it just as clear and as easy to understand my instructor did. You could easily be a great sailing instructor😎👌🏽
Fisher deeper if you don't like catching Barracudas. You need at least 6oz of weight and typically more than 100ft of water for stuff like Tuna, etc. Also enough line to get deep.
Hey great vid as usual Josh! Yeah. Cuda are known to have ciguatera. But the smaller ones most likely are ok. I’m not advising you try. Do your own research first and maybe just taste 👅
Thanks. Yes, I've heard this too. 24 inches is considered a good to eat, from what I hear, but I didn't want to hassle with it. I hear that Cuda at 3 ft and over are the ones you don't want to eat.
My tablet and phone have GPS. The tablet wasn’t grabbing GPS so it wouldn’t refresh. But it worked after about 10 minutes. My phone was working fine the whole time though as a backup. I don’t have a built in chart plotter or GPS on the boat, only in the portable devices.
Thanks for the comment and thanks for your service in CG. 👍 I enjoy the challenges of solo but it can be frustrating/overwhelming in certain situations for sure.

I know I'm pretty off topic but does anyone know a good site to watch newly released movies online?
@Yusuf Brecken flixportal :)
@Keanu Dawson thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) Appreciate it !
@Yusuf Brecken you are welcome xD
Well done brother. I like your attitude
Thanks to you, I feel like I'm at sea. Thanks for posting!
Thanks Martin. Glad you could feel like you were there. That’s my goal. Cheers!
Great video thanks
Fish on Josh. Can't wait to get our boat there, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing.
glad to see you safe and enjoying your time on the water!
Fishing, sunshine and sailing!! Hard to beat in lockdown Winter darkness. Cheers Josh, hope you're well!
I did not see any sailing!
@@sailingfreedomandfireflies2184 There was definitely a headsail out for a short period!
I’m so jealous! Great weekend escape
Another great video!! Thanks for keeping it real and fairly unedited!!
Many thanks!
Josh that was the perfect size for eating, what are you doing letting it go, fillet and fry absolutely delicious.
I know that now but only learned after doing some research after the fact. 👍 Thanks for watching. 🎣

I assume you figured it out by now but you should run two lines, one line to distract the predators and one line to attract the fish you want.
@Josh Question: Why don't you tow the dingy behind the boat? In the last video you did all the hard work of hauling it aboard.
Just wondering what app you used for navigation? Keep up with the videos I like them
How well does Navionics do in the Bahamas? I have heard it is unreliable at points.
I kinda wondering what's wrong with barracuda. Isn't it eatable?

Josh, you may want to put some flashers out when fishing.
So why did your charts not work. Do you not have an actual built on gps on your boat?
