    Another awesome video. You got yourself another Patreon. Can’t stop watching all your clips. Well done and do not change anything. Your clips show how genuine your experience is. Thank you also for the hard work in putting these clips together. Awesome 👏

      @@hrmacdonald4471 What about catch and release fishing? Plus, at the time I wasn’t sure if barracuda were safe to eat. I learned later that smaller ones (like the ones I caught) are safe.

      @@JoshPostVlogs Catch & release fishing is considered a sport...catching a fish on a trolling line off the stern of a sailboat seems more for, catch & eat. I didn't know if barracuda were edible either until I read this post. We both learned something :)

    You'll catch more fish if you use a less conspicuous leader. You're fishing in really clear water. The fish can easily see the leader material. If you're worried about getting cut off by toothy critters, you could use about six inches of light wire leader. Otherwise, I'd just use a few feet of 100lb mono leader.

      @@JoshPostVlogs also you need to be in deeper water to have a chance at pelagic. at that depth, you really are only going to get barracuda. I would start at 100 ft plus. Good luck and I enjoy watching the videos.

    Fisher deeper if you don't like catching Barracudas. You need at least 6oz of weight and typically more than 100ft of water for stuff like Tuna, etc. Also enough line to get deep.

  • @jasonissel217
    @jasonissel217 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I assume you figured it out by now but you should run two lines, one line to distract the predators and one line to attract the fish you want.

      Hey great vid as usual Josh!
      Yeah. Cuda are known to have ciguatera. But the smaller ones most likely are ok. I’m not advising you try. Do your own research first and maybe just taste 👅

    • @JoshPostVlogs
      @JoshPostVlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks. Yes, I've heard this too. 24 inches is considered a good to eat, from what I hear, but I didn't want to hassle with it. I hear that Cuda at 3 ft and over are the ones you don't want to eat.

    So why did your charts not work. Do you not have an actual built on gps on your boat?

    • @JoshPostVlogs
      @JoshPostVlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My tablet and phone have GPS. The tablet wasn’t grabbing GPS so it wouldn’t refresh. But it worked after about 10 minutes. My phone was working fine the whole time though as a backup. I don’t have a built in chart plotter or GPS on the boat, only in the portable devices.
