I just ordered a Vanford 4000 today. I have the 2500 and 3000 and they are nice. I still think the Stradic Ci4+ reels are just as good. I have several of those.
How heavy of a fish do you think the 5000 vanford could handle before it starts to flex. I have a FL 3000 and want a vanford 5000 for when i go out on the charter boats.
I picked up a vanford 3000xgf. Took it out of the box , put the crank on. Gave it a spin. And it was LOUD. DAIWA Ballistic arrived a few days later. 2500. The Ballistic was much quieter..
@@dktourfishing it is smooth. But so are $70 diawa's. Shimano was just louder than diawa balistic. I checked out two more vanfords at different stores. All three the same
@@dktourfishing with 8 lb braid. Will a 4000 size spool cast further than a 2000 size. Casting a 1/8 oz popper? And will a 4000 real have a smother drag than a 2000 real? When pulling in a fiesty 5 # fish. Thanks...
Just got my vanford 5000. I’m more of a baitcaster guy but sometimes you need a really good spinning reel to get those super long cast from the shoreline.
I personally dont know. I grew up in the salt but now fish fresh water exclusively. I did not notice anything specific in my research about better salt water capabilities.
I've been waiting for the 4000 vanford to come out too! BUT now that they're out im kinda wondering if I should get a stradic FL instead or maybe even a diawa back bay?.. #1 i want something strong #2 i want something that casts well #3 weight is my least concern I just want something thats gonna take some abuse from power fishing... Thanks man
Honestly its a tough call. The Vanford is a small step up in sensitivity but if you're more concerned in durability than sensitivity. I might have to stay with the heavier of the two metals. (FL)
@@dktourfishing ok thanks man.. yeah I've heard the vanford is more sensitive! Its for a medium heavy rod so I'd definitely rather have the strength then sensitivity.. Thanks again man, I'm gonna check out some of your other videos..
If you are fishing saltwater for big snook and reds I would stick with the stratic fl 4000 or sustain . I have been fishing with both in Florida killing the snook and reds daily for over a year no flex on either very smooth GREAT DRAG!!! titelines727@gmail.com
Hello! The vanford is a bit lighter for sensitivity where as the stratic is a bit more durable in my opinion. That being said. They are both strong and sensitive. Good luck with your decision!
@@dktourfishing thank you ive been asking same same question to lot of jigger. Most of them said stradic is good for jigging. I'm going to get my stradic this morning! Thank you sir! ✌️🙂
Awesome video! Thanks for taking the time to make this.
Thankyou. I am grateful for your positive feedback.
Brilliant video x
Great review and comparison.

Nice! And yes they are very similar in comparison.

They both have their time and place for sure!
Love my Stradic FL, how do you think the Vanford holds up in the salt compared to that
I personally dont know. I grew up in the salt but now fish fresh water exclusively. I did not notice anything specific in my research about better salt water capabilities.
I would try out an exist or certate. They are really incredible reels. That being said they are 2x or more in price
I love high end reels! That would be a good face off.
I realize it is kind of randomly asking but does anybody know a good site to watch newly released series online?
@Achilles Kaysen flixportal :)
@Briggs Major thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service :D I appreciate it!!
@Achilles Kaysen No problem =)

I ended up picking up a saltist backbay 4000.. no regrets in my choice
I saw a vanford2500s on Facebook market. What’s the difference
The 2500 is smaller than the 4000 the number represents a different size model.
I have both Stradic 4000 and 5000. Imo the 5000 is much quieter and smoother.
But can use it in saltwater too vanford ?
Yes, but for salt water ALWAYS rinse your rods/reels in fresh water afterwards. Hose em down!
Ahh yes cool from Mauritius island i follow yr video thx you
Hello sir! Im from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Im a newbie for jigging should i get the FL or VANFORD what do you reckon? all i know what should i get is 4000 reel 😅

I want to upgrade my reel but cash does't allow it🤑
