Yup, there is a world of difference between simply driving then kicking to an open teammate, than actually orchestrating an offense and setting up a perfect shot. Point guards nowadays are more inclined to get their own shot while occassionally passing to a wide open shooter, but that's not play-making. Pure PGs like CP3 know exactly what the right play is at every situation cause they have a different feel for the game than others.

I know we rag on Kenny a lot, but his comment obviously flew over your head. Most players playing the point nowadays are hybrid/combo guards with more emphasis on scoring, not pure point guards that oversee everything and always looks to make the best play. There hasn't been a pure point guard in the last 10 years imo. The last generation of pure points was the generation of CP3, Steve Nash, and Jason Kidd. Now every PG wants to score more than make a play.

Whats with the Kenny hate on the PG comment? He's right, to a certain degree. The modern PG is a primary ball handler and has to be a scoring threat. An OG PG would be your CP3s, Stockton, Magic etc, controlling the tempo and pace of the offense. Right now, you dont need a PG to do that anymore, you have the primary scoring threats in a team thats able to make plays and take high & FGAs because of their ability to score (Lebron, Luka, Trae, Tatum to an extent, moving the ball if hes doubled).
Closest 'PG' in todays game besides CP3 would be Lonzo. The bulls are a completely different team without him. He really sets the pace in the Bulls offense.

How does CP3 not have a single MVP award, but Lebron has 4 ? They literally both pick up their teams' record and make them a lot better, the fact that CP3 wasn't in MVP talks last or this year with one of the best records in the league, just shows the media bias towards him. Whatever, he'll get that FMVP.
