    Former Land Rover mechanic here. I'm from Brazil, and I don't know if in Europe is different, but from my experience, the petrol ones are far more reliable than the diesels. Never had a single problem with this 5.0 engine, but the diesels were always giving some trouble.

    • @SrzStark
      @SrzStark 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sou do Brasil também, sempre que eu vejo uma Land Rover dessa a venda é porque sempre tem algum problema... Seguro mais do que 10K mas não deixa de ser um belo carro

    • @gilsonrogeriolimaoliveira2807
      @gilsonrogeriolimaoliveira2807 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@SrzStark essa L322 é um baita de um carrão, um conforto absurdo. Mas se Land Rover já tem fama de ser um ralo de dinheiro no exterior, imagina aqui, onde tudo custa 3 ou 4 vezes mais que lá fora.

      Amigo, to vendo uma vogue supercharged 2011 a venda. De motor e cambio desses carros não tem problema cronico nenhum? O que pega mais é só suspensão? Um baita carro esse mas sempre achei que as diesel eram melhores..

    • @gilsonrogeriolimaoliveira2807
      @gilsonrogeriolimaoliveira2807 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Bernardomeneghini732 no tempo em que estive na marca, vi poucas dessa Range Rover, portanto não estou a par dos problemas crônicos que possa ter. Entre um diesel e uma gasolina, pessoalmente prefiro gasolina. Os motores diesel são muito mais complexos devido aos sistemas de controle de emissões, sendo que isso vale para qualquer carro que tenha as duas opções. Quanto ao câmbio, sem ser exclusivo do L322, o ZF6HP apresenta desgaste prematuro em uma peça magnética no interior do câmbio, que faz com que tenha dificuldade entre a terceira e quarta marcha. O ZF8HP tem um problema conhecido nas linhas que conduzem ao resfriador do óleo da transmissão, que faz com que a mesma superaqueça e entre em modo de emergência.

    Thank you so much for this video! Always great to see some people appreciate the L322... i own myself three of these monsters... and i cannot let go one of them! My oldest, the '03 model with the 4.4 BMW V8 is giving me always the chills because of the sound, and the '07 3.6V8 Diesel has a nice punch (due to the first turbo kicking in earlier).. and my other 07 4.4V8 Diesel for its economy! I will not drive anything else anymore.. my 03 took me to the sahara and to the black sea through rough romanian territory... no better offroad in luxury (and then straight from the gravel to the highway without complaints) RR L322 forever...

    Dear Martijn, love your enthusiasm and the pure joy but being a car reviewer who co-built such a great channel I would expect not to get so much misinformation. First of all, your car is not an Autobiography Black spec but an ordinary Vogue with the blacked out grill, wheels and lettering being just aftermarket upgrades. As for the main key differences which the Autobiography Black Edition boasted over and ordinary Vogue they were:
    - Barolo Black paint and black interior
    - different wheels (yours are just standard supercharged-design ones)
    - different grill mesh
    - side vents with chrome inserts (yours are even from a pre-2010 model which is weird)
    - an actual Autobiography Black designation
    - but MAINLY, something you cannot change that easily in a garage unless you buy a whole interior - a completely different seat quilting, an Autobiography-specific feature which can be identified by extended quilting on the seat bolsters front and rear
    - AND a leather stitched center dash around the vents just among the main things
    Sorry mate, I had 4 L322’s myself, a Vogue, Vogue SE and two Autobiography specs, love them to bits and although I am a big fan of your channel listening to all this misinformation was just a cringe. Also, it definitely is not one of the heaviest cars EVER made :D. I mean, come on. Hope it still runs well, they’re charming beasts.

      Careful. I am not debating you know your stuff. However I have seen a couple autobiography Black in the Latin America market. I went to the dealer to get answers. Because like you I was under the understanding it was not an Autobiography Black. I was educated that in Latin America market only 200 hundred was sold. However for language purposes only the autobiography badge was black. No (Black)was added to it. So we have some exceptions out there.

    I’m flabbergasted at the depreciation of this beast. I can’t believe anyone would buy one new... obviously people with more money than sense as it’s certainly not an ‘investment’ when new.
    I do like this one though. I still remember the UK Range Rovers in the late 1970’s, as you said they were driven by farmers but also Traffic Police cruised up and down the motorways in these but back then they cornered so badly because they wallowed so much. I always wanted one of the later models but not nowadays as they’re ten a penny... common as muck, usually seen in supermarket car parks having been driven by footballers wives, pop stars and now... internet influencers.

    Also on my L322. I felt it was the closest thing to a Autobiography Black. The dealer keep telling me it was. I didn’t buy it new. But I went to the dealer that sold it new. To confirm to me it was, he showed me the rear locking differential. One thing all Autobiography have in common is a rear locking differential. Hope I cleared up some misunderstanding about the L322.

    Habe den RR 4.4 Autob. L322 und werde den so schnell nicht abgeben. Ausversehen kurz 240kmh drauf gehabt, macht er locker mit Software Optimierung. Keine Probleme, zieht alles fantastisch und auch abseits kann er fast alles. Eins der besten Autos was ich je hatte. Nur Tank ist etwas klein mit knapp 80L schafft er meist nur 950/1000km.

    What's is the basic difference between L320 and L322? Is there external cosmetic difference in the body? Greetings from California!

    I have RR Sport 2.7 tdv6.
    I love that so much, but it’s not a car to be maintained with low quality services.
    The only major problem i had so far for 2 years is the rear wiper, but it’s very normal for a 10+ old car.
    Don’t buy Champagne with money for Lemonade!
    Edit:
    One friend of mine felt in love in my car so he bought one for himself too. He was 4th owner of that car and she was creating a lot of problems and he had to sell her. I guess that car wasn’t getting good care of her previous owners.
    I am 2nd owner of my car and the previous owner had been maintaining her very, very well and he kept her in almost perfect condition and sold it to me with 286k kilometers on the clock.
    She’s not City friendly Car, but i still drive it a lot, but the Autobahn/Highway is where she can stretch more and she amazing on long distance driving!

    It's good that you are happy with your car, but I wonder almost daily: What makes so many people want SUVs? There is basically no hill or much Offroad in Netherlands, did you buy it because you're probably going to go "off road"for 0.01% of it's usage? Or do you/do people buy it for the status it gets you?
    it would be so much more efficient, lower center of gravity etc if it was a sleek, elegant sedan or Combi
